Violin is a musical instrument that is very near to human voice - a reason - why it has become a part of karnatic vocal and Hindusthani vocal music stream. Now violin is one of marvelous inventions human beings ever made. There is an evolutionary history for violin. What we see now is a modern violin. It was Antonio Stradivari a luthier, who added a great value for his violins. If you have an original Stradivarius with you means, definitely you will land up in trouble - it is worth of millions. You can't move peacefully unless you have security guards around you, if you have an original Stradivarius with you. In western classical violin concerts they use the violins in such a way that only a section of the violinists play the same thing. For instance, to get vague idea, I mean, first violin, second violin, viola, cello, double bass - all these instruments are cousins of the king of the instruments - the violin. I am not competent enough to say too much about music but wish to the beauty of accompaniment. If a note, say F# is produced, it remains as a single note. If you add that note with natural D and natural A it becomes D major chord. With the help of a piano you can make all the chord notes of D major. The chords enriches a note ( in our language a note is 'സ്വരം') In violin concert, with the violin family instruments the chord effect can be accomplished exclusively with the aid of violin family instruments. Another aspect of the concert is the musicians are bound to keep the thought coherency - that is - when you are in a group you should observe the bow style, the tempo, and even the minute dynamics ( f, mf, p, pp etc; ) To put it in a nut shell, a concert is a marvelous blending of brains. Certain Philharmonic set up insist on the length of the bow to be used - that is a mere bow style adherence is not enough but even the length it goes up and down while playing should be uniform. To conclude, listen to the song "തളിരിട്ട കിനാക്കൾ തൻ" the violin counter played in the song enriched it in a beautiful way. I just mentioned the song I liked very much. There are lot of songs that have beautiful violin counters in it. Another beautiful aspect of the western is its notation. A man who is good at sight reading need not listen to the sound. He can play with his eyes by looking into the perfectly written notation. Cent percent compliance of the artists is accomplished through the notations. 🙏
