Okay a little background regarding Kratos. In GOW mythos he is FORBIDDEN from dying by his own hand, gaining a quasi version of cursed immortality. That's largely why he survived stabbing himself with the Blade of Olympus. He can potentially still die but it has to be from an outside source, not by his own hand. You can thank Athena for that.

And to add on to that, they weren't intending to explain the next games because back in the day, it was always questionable if success is a thing after sales begin and go on for a bit. He killed himself for humanity to have hope due to the gods being abusive, yes. But when he ended up gone in the afterclip, it was just a cliffhanger waiting to see if the public wanted a sequel. And sure enough, that simple. Woohoo. And on top of that sure enough, we did get a sequel. They just intentionally left it mystery for curiosity of our receiving of the game.

I don't think that'll work tbh, you'd basically have to watch the entire game since for one thing, its filled with cutscenes, and for another, the conversations in between the cutscenes are super important to the story and characters. At that point they may as well just play the game

Although it's more associated with Greek mythology, the phoenix has it's origin to Egyptian mythology. It's also another hint that kratos wasn't going to die or stay dead.

The same 2 I had recommended a couple week ago and you told me to send them again when you were done with the Greek games as a reminder. Oh the og video cut the part in the "shadow realm". In that part Kratos sees moments from his past including the moment when he killed his family, except this time you get to see his wife and daughters perspective, its very sad when you head Kratos daughter asking her dad not to kill them. What they skipped in that bit in the darkness and hope bit, was Kratos using hope to burn away the worst moments of his life. Symbolically forgiving himself in a way and letting go of the pain and fear. Which gave him the strength to slip out and of course, kill Zeus. Also since Kratos killed basically EVERY incarnation of death personally, he's not to die. It's just out of the cards for him.

Athena was selfless, she puts others before herself, she just wanted to protect olympus and she cared for kratos, she always wanted to help him out. So the ending of GoW 3 is Athena was telling Kratos to give her Hope back, so she could rule Mankind. Since every other deity was killed, and the Greek World was a desolate hellscape. Kratos decides to stab himself to instead release Hope to all of Mankind itself. However, Kratos also can't actually die for whatever reason. Right after Athena walks off, and Kratos collapses, it fades to black. Fades back in, but instead of Kratos' body, it's just a lol of blood. And a dragging blood trail leading off of the side of the cliff. Showing that he was still probably alive somewhere.

Gow 1-3 take place in Greek mythology but after kratos stabbed himself to release the power of hope to save humanity he survives his wounds and wonders around the world until he eventually somewhere along the way he made it to Scandinavia aka Norse Mythology and a lot of time has passed since his greek days cause i think it was confirmed kratos is over 1000 years old by the point of gow 4 and his new journey is with his new son Atreus.

So how mythology works in this universe is that gods only control their respective geographical areas. - Greece is for Greek mythology and only affects Greeks, Nordic areas is under Norse mythology, Egypt is under Egyptian mythology, so on and so forth. It was supposed to show the bloodstain where he stabbed himself, then the camera slowly pans to show the blood trailing off towards the edge as if he crawled away, then it shows the aftermath. Yeah there's chaos at the end of gow3 but Greece does recover, and Kratos obviously doesn't die, and even travels for many years, even passing through Egypt. Nobody is sure why Kratos can't die, my theory is that when he absorbed the ashes of prometheus, he also took his curse. He can get to the edge of death, but then he heals/revives.

Kratos didn't die after stabbing himself, when athena leaves and kratos falls down you missed the scene where it shows you the same spot kratos was fallen but he's not there, There's blood in the same spot and trail of blood is leading from that spot to the end of the cliff. The post credit scene of III shows the cliff where Kratos released the power of hope empty, with a blood trail leading to the edge. So we all knew he had survived. The norse game dont explains what happened. It jumps centuries ahead, when he is living isolated in midgard with his new family. PS: The gods werent assholes initially. They BECAME assholes because they were consumed by the evils when Kratos opened the box in the first game.

In the newes GOW 2018 there was an almost 1,000 year difference. At the end of GOW 3 kratos was 45 years old and in the 2018 GOW, he is over 1000 years old. Technically Kratos is still a God.

Whoever put that cut together deserves to be thrown in the deepest depths of Tartarus. They cut out important parts and linger or start at unnecessary parts. It's very frustrating watching you guys miss crucial moments and seeing the confusion as they make those cuts. The skips do not make sense. They start at such a weird place.

Gow 3 end with him on the mountain and then credits rolled a cut back the mountain and his body was gone so we all knew that he got up and walked away so I was like wait wait he got back up we all we all knew he wasn't dead also God of War 4 takes place above like a century or so give or take 1700 maybe even 17,000 it's hard to tell with being Immortal Greek mortal and Olympian God hes got good genetics

He is cursed, so he can never take his own life. At the end, it does show a puddle of blood but no body in sight. In a comment below, in truth there is actually a Canon comic that tells us how he leaves Greece. 2018 takes place in Midgard/earth realm. The exact time from this to 2018 is a century btw hence the beard.

One thing to note as well, in this fight with zues when they are fighting inside of Gaia trading blows with the blade of Olympus, you can hear the music ramp up, the smashing gets louder and kratos begins to breathe harder. In this moment you can feel all the hatred and all the pain kratos has been met with by this man alone. It's truly a moment for you to reflect on how he killed every enemy zues has sent. All leading to this moment. Truly phenomenal.
