i am released from hospital with broken R hand and hardly bruised L knee. so glad i can finally just sit and watch some youtube and some superb videos of yours

Awesome mate - that you have something to watch not the hand and knee - get better mate

One of the most interesting things I saw in a popular mechanics encyclopedia was a section dedicated to lighting. One in particular comes to mind, the use of a mirror on a table and a light pointing straight down or so. It disperses the light in a dining room setting while the source isn't visible from those at the table. I likely need to find it again to see the specifics, but it was one of the many designs that were rather ingenious for home improvements... that would also be safe/legal... funnily enough there was a tip on how to improve the grip of your workbench vice by grabbing an asbestos shingle from the stack you have lying around and putting it in between the object you need more grip for.

A real collection of former videos but I watched to the end as solar is my idea of energy

Sir you are a honest Man , the last comment you gave is like agreeing and authenticating in a subtle way that there is a need to work on harnessing solar thermal energy. Thanks 🙏

Hi Robert, great channel... my favourite! How about using the Fresnel lens water filled pipe idea in a straight line parallel to and above your evacuated tube cookers and boilers? BrendanM.

45 mins of concentrated light on our brains, & hopefully a few warmer homes as a result. Love the new channels & look forward to my revision! literally re-vis, but in an ever more organised format. Thanks TnT Omnibus

That thermal pipe should be done in the form of an air-blimp's shell wall, which filled with hydrogen and raised above the clouds for the best exposure. It may have even reflector integrated directly in it. And, if docked somewhere behind the polar circle, such aerostat would work with no interruptions for a whole half-year season...

What do you think of offshore solar, wind, and wave platforms that split seawater into hydrogen? Graphene could make desalinization much cheaper, and you could make renewables from all three sources into hydrogen, making renewables transportable like natural gas. Once renewable energy can be sold and bought like natural gas, that would change the paradigm. On top of that, you can grow algae for oil, among other industries that would go along side it. Didn’t they want to put wind and wave-farms dotting the entire coast of the United States, Florida in particular? (we are a peninsula)

you should use some silicone to close the tube. Because you lose a lot of heat if you don´t close it

Roads collect heat from the sun all day, and are hotter than the dirt they are built on. Has anyone tried using this temperature difference with a low temperature difference Stirling engine to create electric power?
@leefoster4133 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it doesn't generate allot electricity in a normal environment. You would have to gather allot of light and concentrate it to melt salt or alike material. There are RTG which is a nuclear option for the same general technology. Now, you can heat by sun what is called a solar battery which is really a 20 litre bucket of sand which is heated starting in the morning and it's brought in just before the sun sets to heat the house. You can also built a heating wall I think it called which is really an organized assembly of aluminum soft drink cans where you organize it in a wall painted black where the sun would heat up the cans and by use of a 12vdc computer fan you would blow cold air into the wall and hot air comes out the top. This is placed in a sun facing window. Of course that's only good when the sun is present. So, yes, allot can be done here but it still comes down to cost vs efficiency.

I would say solar thermal is prone to starting fires when unattended and not as safe. A lot of safety measures have to be designed in to protect life and property. Insurance cost would be much higher and in todays society you really have to design safely for many peoples ignorance, stupidity and carelessness.
