I had to cut back pasta except for holidays and special occasions. Being Italian I thought it would be hard but after a few months, it seems "normal". I'm 62 so if I can change, there is hope for others. ; ) Bread is less too, I do "open face" egg sandwiches and just the end of the french bread on special days. You find what works for you. I'm one year 9/11 and went from 174 to 136.(most by Jan of this year)

Hi! I just discovered your channel and this is my second video. I just recently started instinctively making less carbs a way of eating and the intermittent fast just kinda started on it's own. I have bad knees from a very bad fall in January 2022. I have a day here and there where they don't bother me much. I recently discovered a very gentle cardio exercise. It is going to the park and swinging on a bench swing that is designed with a footrest that propels it forward with a gentle push of your feet. I stay with it for 30 minutes at a moderate pace. Also, I went to their exercise area and followed the instructions and diagrams for doing really deep all-over body stretches with the use of their horizontal and vertical bars for support. I've only been 2 days. Took a break today, but returning tomorrow. I Already Feel a World of Difference in my Entire body! All of my aches and pains have disappeared !! Thank you for all your helpful tips!! A new Subbie here!!!

I have found with mental illnesses like clinical anxiety and depression it can produce adrenal fatigue after having them for a long time. It affects my motivational ability in my mind to the point of having no mental desires.. When I was able to do some fasting there was a slight motivational ability there. Now it's completely gone. It's like a person who has been extinguished inside. Your videos are really good though.

You won't be sorry. 1 year now KETO/IF rocked my labs, A1c, blood sugers, even cholesterol, to almost normal. Took a while, the first 2-3 weeks of IF we're challenging, but all in my head, because KETO foods definatly eliminate hunger. I jumped in to 16 hours, recommend starting 12 and inching down, takes the brain a bit to realize there is no hunger. I'm at 18 hours now, easy peasy. Best wishes. One of my biggest fears, besides hunger, was feeling deprived. So I planned a weekly cheat meal, that has turned into monthly, if I even remember. But I keep it allowable just to appease my brain, haha. Will be adding LMNT this week also to cut back on Zevia sodas.

You have described me after herniated discs, 2 hip replacements and obesity from several years on ACTOS (^120 lbs). My 1 year into KETO/IF and my labs, A1c, cholesterol are 90% to perfect, except triglycerides are still very high. Blood sugers and insulin quantities are a roller coaster. Only lost 15 lbs even though staying 1500 - 1800 calories. But maybe too BBBE. I'm changing to goat milk products to reduce lactose. And reducing protien more and increasing fat more. Next labs in 2 months, we'll see.

Thank you for your easy to follow advice and helping us by showing how we can do this gradually so it isn't so difficult. I have been doing some intermittent fasting. It is difficult for me because I like breakfast and I have to get up at 5 am. The 16 hour wait is very difficult, especially when I am making my husband breakfast before he goes to work. I find if I can cook some of his breakfast the day before, I crave it less in the morning and can stick to the fasting. The 12 hour fasting schedule is what I am on now. Since the daylight is getting later, I am hoping to sleep in since he works outside and can't work in the dark. That will definitely help me fast longer.

Dr Becky- I exercise a lot 150 miles a week on my bicycles. Low carb diet has also helped me get to a BMI normal weight of 216 lbs (I'm 6'6"). My question is...if 50-100 carbs/day is good for a 2000 calorie day... can I go higher in carbs with a 3000-4000 calorie or more day ? Saturday I rode my bike 70 miles of a gravel rail trail- burned 4434 Calories. (that's a 6500 calorie day!). I do eat carbs (dried mango strips) when I ride longer than 30 miles. 30 miles rides I can just use stored Glycogen (2 hours) but on longer rides I need some carbs. FYI- I use "Element" electro lights instead of sugary drinks like Gatorade on all the but the longest bike rides. On rides over 30 miles I eat one dried mango strip/10 miles- it really seems to help. Age 60, retired this spring:^) I have lost 45 Lbs since Nov 1 2021 on a low carb diet. 4inches in waist size! A1C went from 62 to 57 (last tested in March) in the winter I only ride indoors 60 miles/week.

I can exercise but my feet are still so bad that afterward it takes me a day to get back to walking normal. I am going through menopause and am wondering if that could be at least some of the issue since I didn't start to have foot pain again until last year when I started menopause. I need to know what I can do naturally to not only help with that but to help with my estrogen levels. I am Keto and have been for four years but have found for the last year that I get overwhelmed with cravings and the same feelings I had when I was premenstrual such as increased hunger and mood swings.

I was the 60 YO 245 lbs type II diabetic sit at a desk guy who had to have a quintuple bypass in 2016. My wife found your channel (2 fit docs) looking for a way to lose weight without exercise. We started keto and graduated to OMAD. I'm now 165 lbs, 5.6 a1c, and have only rarely needed insulin in the last 2 years. I am 65 and retired and walk 6 miles each day. Seeing your electrolyte section prompts my comment. My calf muscles are always sore to the touch and I am prone to cramps in the feet and calves in bed. My potassium levels are normal so I thought perhaps it was from lactic acid build up from walking. I do crave salt which goes missing a lot in our meat and veggie diet. Is it a high possibility that electrolyte replacement will help this pain and cramping go away?

It involves walking very slowly for about 2 minutes, then run as fast as you can for about 1 minute. Run like a tiger is chasing you! Then lay down for about 2 minutes at complete rest. He says you have the same or better results then exercising for long periods. What are your thoughts on this approach? Thank You, I'll keep tuned in to your channel!

I don't know if this is recommended or not, but I started out with what I call fat fasting. I ate lots of good fats, as much as I wanted, and if I got hungry between meals I'd eat fat. The thinking was to train my body to use fat well, and even in the early days I lost body fat. As I progressed I needed this extra fat less and less, got fat adapted and the body fat kept coming down. Point is, I never had to feel hungry, as long as I ate the correct thing, fat.

What kind of foods did you eat please?
@Lance54689
@Lance54689 Жыл бұрын
@@mcstar8885 They key is real whole food fats. NOT junk food, canola oil, etc. For me it was crunchy peanut butter and nuts in general, olive oil, butter, cream. Basically I always had a jar of natural crunchy peanut butter with me, I kept one in my backpack. For me anyway, no matter how much I was craving sugar/junk food, two or three spoonfuls of peanut butter(no sugar added!) got rid of it. And just as important, I like pbutter! I look forward to it.

I was given a brain cat scan a year ago for nothing out of malpractice and then the doctor said I don’t know why you were given a brain cat scan. I went in for gas in the stomach and got a brain cat scan smh. After the scan I started having foamy urine to this day, dark spots appearing on left foot, toe pain, flank pain and pain in the kidneys in the back that comes and goes, burning in stomach, frequent urination and much more. I went to a urologist and I got a kidney ultrasound and it came back normal, urine test and it was also normal, no protein but I still have foamy urine for a year now, flank pain and toe pain. What should I do?

1000MG of Sodium? With having high blood pressure, my doctor says to limit sodium intake. How can this be healthy at 43% sodium per serving?
@mmeljac
@mmeljac Жыл бұрын
A lot depends on your diet, age, hormones, etc. But I drink at least one LMNT everyday, sometimes two and I find because I am not eating refined foods that the sodium is perfect. In fact my blood pressure has gone back down to the level it was in my 20's. I am not a doctor but just wanted to let you know that sometimes when people eat healthy, non-processed whole foods that are Low Carb and Keto that sodium levels of 1000mg are not only possible but also help make my body feel better and reduce headaches and foggy brain.

Alter your diet first. Ease into keto/low carb. It took me a month before I could go carb free. It was hard. After 3 months, it became easier. Just know that you can have a cheat meal once per week. Once you are on steady keto, you WILL become healthier. I'd not doubt your blood pressure issues will slowly fade. I'm 72 and even though I wasn't considered diabetic, i developed diabetic issues. Keto/fasting is keeping my insulin low, and ever so slowly, things are improving. I've been on Keto for 10 months. I am at the point where i want electrolytes. I just moved 36 cement blocks. Tomorrow, I move them again.
