Toadstool coral fragging

In this video I move a small toadstool coral from my quarantine tank into my display tank. The video ended up being kinda long so its running at 2x and is a little jittery, but you'll get the idea. Enjoy some Mozart while you watch.

I'm also curious if the original stump grew back, or how these two frags grew out. Any update?

Did the original stump regrow? Or it died and you had to remove it? I see you ended up with one more tiny frag. Maybe it was a better idea to just cut off that small guy and put it on a rock in the first place.

That was really neat. Does the toadstool survive? And that glue, is that a special glue or something that is nonpoisonous? I know assuming is bad but I am assuming that the glue is also nonpoisonous to the fish if any were to seep out into the water correct?

+ArtariousTGAT These corals are practically indestructible. You can cut them up into little pieces and they will all grow. That is regular superglue gel I got from the hardware store. It cures fast and has no toxic effect on anything in the tank. Thanks for watching!

+CS I had a real disappointment when I was a child (many years ago) and had some gold fish. I had, I think, a 35 gallon tank for 8 gold fish. Well one male ended up eating (yes eating) all but three females. It then grew to be this massive fish that had a top sail of about 7 inches. Anyway, I had those fish for several years and one day my mother was cleaning the tank and wanted to get all the oily stuff off the rocks. So she used dawn dish soap to clean the rocks before putting them back into the tank. 30 minutes later they all died. That was really why I asked about the glue. Something may 'seem' innocuous and it ends up killing everything so naturally I was curious about the glue. Good to know though that superglue really isn't toxic to the animals there. Thanks for clarifying that.

Wow that is a terrible story. I would be majorly upset if that happened to my tank. I don't even like finding dead snails. I always consider things very carefully before doing, but still I've made a few mistakes along the way. Thanks for telling.

I would rather use s rubberband to attach to rock so it would attach naturally, usually in 2 weeks

To me this wasn’t fragged, u basically cut if off, and reattached... u have one and ended up with... one... minus the little one
