I must tell you that when I saw this recipe I had the urge to make it straight away, so I had to tweek one or two things. I’m having to stay away from wheat at the moment, so I used my home-made mixed seed and oat bread. I had no cooked kale on hand, so used rocket (arugula) straight from the bag and I have never heard of lemon pepper, so freshly ground black pepper had to do. My goodness, it was so savoury and so tasty. A keeper! Thanks from Hilly in Norfolk in the U.K. ✌️

If you save that sauerkraut juice and add it to your cheese sauces that you make it will bump up the cheesy taste. I always add a little bit of sauerkraut and sauerkraut juice when I'm making a cheese sauce or hummus or anything cheesy

I made this today on whole grain rye bread and it was absolutely amazing! The combination is perfect. I don’t have a panini maker but toasted in a pan. It was crunchy, crispy and creamy! The tomato definitely adds the perfect balance! Thank you both for all of the delicious recipes.❤️❤️❤️

Amazing. I've not had bread in ages, but man that's tempting. That sandwich sounds so delicious. Lovely combination. Thank you.

I made this today also. Boy, my first bite was a shock due to the tartness of my homemade sauerkraut, BUT it really did deliver... complexe and energizing! I'd add more hummus on my next one.

🌱🕊💚Looks scrumptious!!! Thanks for sharing the Hex brand; I too have had trouble finding a low sodium version of sauerkraut.

This looks really tasty, I love the flavors, I might even sprinkle the hummus side with toasted sesame seeds. Suggestion... something I always do for my grilled sandwiches, I toast the side of the bread that will go on the inside of the sandwich before adding the filling so that the sandwiches have a bit more structure and won't get soggy inside.

What a great combination of textures and flavors! But I would check the package of that bread for UPF. They are ubiquitous. Also, rather than discarding the brine from the squeezed sauerkraut, savor as a gut shot or include in your next salad dressing, smoothie or hummus. Your gut biome will thank you. 🥰

Something moved me to make this despite not really caring for its individual components. Delicious! Something about the combination makes it work beautifully. Makes a very hearty lunch, and simple to assemble if you have hummus on hand. Thanks!

How about all that salt from the mustard, sauerkraut, bread and hummus? Doesn’t it all add up or is it okay? Thank you for this video. Today I made a sandwich with Ezekiel bread, sliced tofu, small amounts of kimchi and thinly sliced carrot and cucumber. Next time I will add steamed kale, which I have in the fridge.
