An Indian lady taught me to cook wild rice easily and this is how. Use an oven safe pan with lid. Measure out your rice and water then place in oven. Preheat to 500 and shut oven off. Then I go to bed and in the morning it’s perfect. My name is LaDonna from Minnesota! Love your recipes and the joy that comes with it.

Mushrooms and parsley with wild rice (or other crunchy brown rice) would also make a great cold dish, I once bought this from a Lebanese store - delicious! A few pine nuts on top would add a little cheesy & nutty flavour. Personally I like to keep it simple and use few ingredients so I can really taste individual flavours.

I made this for Friendsgiving last night and it was a hit! I'll be making it again for Thanksgiving, trying almonds vs. pecans this time. I used ¼ cup red wine vinegar and the rest of my jar of mandarine oranges. : ) I forgot to rinse the wild rice after I cooked it, so I'm not sure what difference it would have made. It sure is yummy!

I make this at least once a week and we love it! The only thing I change is the rice, I use brown Jasmine rice just because I can't find the wild rice. But it tastes amazing!

That looked SO yummy and THAT crunch (‘wow’) made it more enticing to make. Thank you for this inspirational video. Out of interest, how often do you eat on a regular day? Do you eat when you’re hungry or at specific meal times etc. I ask this because there is so much out there about intermittent fasting and it’s health benefits. It would be interesting to hear about your thoughts about intermittent fasting on a plant based diet. Thank you 🥬🥑🥕

Looks delicious! I have tried becoming vegan, but every once in a while, I get this hunger that I can't satisfy. When this happens, I need to consume some animal protein and it goes away 😢. What can I do to stop eating meat?
@loribakergirl6438 Жыл бұрын
My husband is also struggling with this. I’m going to try making him a few meals each week using the “Beyond Meats” options. They have all kinds of things and I know going to the WFPB is best but if this helps the transition, I’m reading it’s still healthier than eating meat?? I tried the Beyond Meat Ground sausage Chorizo the other night cooked by a vegan family member and I was shocked at how delicious it was!! Maybe this will help till meat is no longer craved?? Good luck on your journey!! I’m new to this too and my struggle is with sugar 😂😢

@@loribakergirl6438 I took a Vegan Sausage dish to a Thanksgiving dinner party. I didn’t label it as Vegan. Everyone ate some, loved it and asked for the recipe. They were all shocked that it was Vegan. I used the Field Roast Apple & Sage Sausages and the recipe from their website. So yummy and perfect for a Fall gathering, as it includes apples, onion, fresh herbs and apple cider.
