I don't mean to sound all sappy and emotional, but I was going through some very rough shit when Ghost came into my life. This band is something special. There is something about them that transports you to another world and nothing matters when you're listening to them. Okay, enough emotions for the day.

i fucking totally agree with you alexi. i am going throught the most shit time in my life now and thats why i listen to them. it makes that dead feeling disappear for awhile when i listen to many o their songs. i kind of use their music as an anchor in me life as o the time i realized i shouldve ditched me ex and taken the hand o the girl o me dreams that landed in me lap 2 years ago. i absolutely love most all o their songs and i wanted you to know that no one understands when i say this. only 1 or two people i know like them but i got me buddy into cirice and it was also the one that was a hook in my mouthe hahaha

I definitely relate to that too. The band just appeared in my life when it was living hell on earth and from then on, I took things in hand, the music helping seeing what matters in life rather than what crushed me at the time. In down moments I always pick an album or all of them and I'm off for a roll and it helps me feel better. There are so many precious, beautiful ideas in their music, and it's definitely healing and soothing as well as damn motivating. And I'm not even speaking of the music itself. So. Damn. Good. ▲♪

Lol now you know how us old timers who were fans of KISS from the beginning felt when they took off the makeup lol. I have to say when I first saw them without makeup, I cringed! LOL. Paul Stanley looked like a goofy looking kid to me and certainly did not look "cool". I think the only original member that didn't really surprise me with his looks and even filled the bill as having the look of a rock star was Peter Criss, the catman. Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were always my two favorite members and when I first saw Ace I thought he had been in a fire or something, he has these pock marks all over his face. With his makeup on Ace looked like he would probably have been the best looking of all of them but in fact he was the worst lol. Gene Simmons reminded me of a drag queen lol. So now you are seeing and hearing Tobias the real person and it is weird isn't it? Don't worry, in a few years it will just be normal to see and hear him, it took me about 2 years to get used to seeing KISS without makeup lol.

Ron Just Ron I’m an old timer too. A friend dated one of them in the mid-late 70’s, so I got to meet them before they revealed themselves publicly. Yes, it was weird seeing them onstage in full regalia knowing what they really looked like (especially Gene). I think the difference here is that while KISS wears makeup, Tobias wears a mask, which more effectively obscures his features. Another example is Slipknot; I think it was years before I saw them all without their masks.

I love Ghost because they made me and my dads relationship better. I was listening to them one day on my computer and my dad heard the music and instantly got super excited because he listened to Ghost too. Me and him never had a close father, daughter relationship but the past two years I’ve listened to Ghost we got much closer. And like your usual dad, he introduces me to a bunch of bands I’ve never heard of, last October he took me and my sisters to a Chevelle and Three Days Grace concert. Some of my core memories will definitely be going to a Ghost with my dad and one of my sisters, and going to rock concerts with him. When my dad found out I listen to Ghost he announced to my grandparents that I’m officially one of their rock buddy’s, my grandparents listen to Ghost as well and got to see them at the concert for Ghost we went too. Concerts we have on our list are Slipknot, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Metallica, Motley Crue, and Ghost again. I would do anything to see Ghost again.

@Art Vandelay Millions? Care to prove your assumption? The whole lawsuit was about the ghouls getting access to the financial records to see if TF was in fact stealing money from them. They don't even know how much if any. So I would suggest you know what you're talking about before judging, otherwise you just come off as a fool. For all we know, the previous ghouls could have held back the direction that TF wanted to take Ghost. Hence probably the new contracts that they didn't sign. So they were fired. Ghost is bigger than ever before, and it costs money to do that. Perhaps he had to withhold money to invest into the bands progression. You think the 7 new ghouls aren't getting paid? Think they would have joined knowing about the lawsuit and said its okay he steals money, we are gonna play anyway. Maybe he did and realized he made a mistake and corrected it for the new lineup. We all make mistakes and besides the ex ghouls approached and announced this on FB like teenagers. Maybe in all the drama they dont deserve shit, we dont know, and probably never will. TF is the main guy, so by default he must be the bad guy, nope no possibility that the ex members were causing problems (sarcasm) so shut up and open your perspective about things.

I think a lot of people don't necessarily appreciate the talent, skill and damned hard work involved in being able to go out onto a stage in front of vast audiences and not only perform your music to standard but also be in character the whole time. Same for the instrumentalists too, certainly the guitarists that are able to move around the stage. You watch a live performance from Ghost and realise how professional and perfectly executed the whole show is. Tobias Forge as a frontman is brilliant, he works the crowd fantastically well. There's a video on YT of them supporting Metallica at one point and there's a moment early on where he's trying to get the audience going and you can kind of tell that they're still a bit flat and that he's not getting a great feedback from them. There's a moment where he gestures to them something which I read as "OK we haven't got you yet but you wait, we'll have you by the time we're done". And they absolutely do! He's got absolute confidence in himself and his band's abilities and that goes a long way! It's a bold statement but he's got a little bit of Freddie Mercury about him, I'm sure he'd view that as praise. You need a band like Ghost to come around once in a while to inject something new and fresh into the mix and they continue to do just that very well!

Great interview, one of the best that I've seen. No tension, good communication between the interviewer and Tobias, no stupid questions. And Tobias seems like such a down to earth, cool guy. I bet he's fun to hang out with. And I'm not saying it as a die hard Ghost fan, what's interesting.

i just can't put this man and ghost together, i just can't see it, how he is the ghost man, he looks so quiet to be in a heavy metal band....
@tiberiusclaudiusnerogermanicis

Most heavy metal musicians when interviewed are awkward and quiet. Infact alot of people who seem confident on stage are complete opposite in person. I used to drum in a a few bands. Biggest audience around 9 thousand people at festivals, I could take my shirt off and play my ass off without any nerves atall!!! I also played acoustics sets to a few hundred and no bother. For me to explain to 10 other people in a room something in a work training session one time, I was shaking and sweating. Also not very confident. It's a very common trait in performers. It's the only way you can let yourself go. It also probably helps alot he started behind a mask with no one knowing who he was, I'd imagine that would allow you to let yourself go a hell off alot easier. You could walk around the crowd after and not even be recognised lol

Always enjoy listening to Tobias’ interview. It’s amazing the characters that he portrays and how he engages with the audience at the live shows. It does feel good to see a ghost show. Most importantly his music and his voice is what got me into them. 👻😈

I am newly discovering and absolutely loving Ghost. I'm not only loving the music and the music videos, I'm absolutely loving listening to Tobias talk about the making of music. I really appreciate the work that goes into creating something like Ghost. On one hand, it looks and feels like a "performance," moreso than what you might think other bands who don't wear make-up and present personas, but on the other hand, I FREAKING love the presentation and performance of Ghost. I let go of expectations and just enjoy the ride when I'm watching a Ghost concert. I love it. Rock on, Tobias!

It is interesting that he told that story about the KISS album Love Gun. I really believe that KISS is responsible for bringing the most young people into the world of rock and roll. As young kids if you saw an album and it had these cartoon type characters on it, cool cartoon not childish ones, it would capture your attention. You would buy the album, take it home and be hooked on rock and roll. You might not remain a KISS fan but I believe KISS opened that doorway for so many younger people. I was 12 and I would listen to my mothers music a lot, CCR and other such bands. I was a huge Elvis fan and after he died we went to the local walmart type of store and she said I could buy a new album. Since this was about September of 1977, Elvis died August of 1977, I immediately went to the Elvis section and brought a copy of Elvis's new album that was released just before his death. She recommended I find an album from someone more of my age group, it was her way of helping me get over the loss of Elvis. I had no clue who anyone was but I say this one album with these 4 guys in makeup, the album looked very cartoonish but yet looked very cool and not "childish", I took it to her and said, "I guess they are called KIZZ and it looks cool". Lol the lightning bolt S's looked like Z's to me and even to her lol. I took the album home and was hooked!! That Album, Rock and Roll Over, is still to this day my favorite KISS record. I have heard a lot of big rock stars tell similar to my story about their introduction to the world of rock music,so whether you like KISS or not you have to give them credit for doing this. I am not into Metal music at all, but I do like Ghost and Tobias seems so young here lol.

Well, if you look closely most of the really good bands always have a lead guy who kind of calls the shots, you can have talent playing the guitar but song writing may not be your stronghold, everyone plays a part in a band but in the end just like a business, you have to have positions that fill strengths.
