Jesus cried when He reached the home of His friend, Lazarus. There is nothing wrong, no shame, with feeling grief and loss. We just know that this isn't the end of everything... we have hope. And that helps.

This song was always so touching to me because we had a son who was struggling with addiction .. my husband had loved Toby Mac since DC Talk. You can literally feel his heartbreak especially through that cry near the last lines. It's so emotional. We ultimately lost our son last year - coming up on his 21st bday a month from today... And the date of his passing just over a month later April 1st. .. this song is now one that I know prepared us for what we would go through 💕 he was in a coma for 6 days so in a way we got to say goodbye but I will never forget that anguish. It's indescribable. This song has helped us cope- along with some others in the same Christian realm and I know without a doubt in my mind some days it's my son communicating- saying he's ok. Thank you for your reaction it was so touching and beautiful.

As someone who has lost their only son I can feel and understands his pain. It’s something no parent should ever have to go through is to bury a child. It’s been 29 years for me and the pain is still raw and days feels like it just happened. You never get over it or it never gets easier you just learn to live the new normal.

I have a 21-year-old son and I cannot even fathom losing him. I have to remind myself everyday is precious that I have with my children and that God has blessed me by giving them to me because ultimately they're his children. We are his children and he loans these amazing human beings to us to enjoy and love. I don't let myself sweat the small stuff anymore especially after losing so many people in such a short amount of time over the last 10 years. My mother, my father, cousins, my best friend committed suicide a few months ago, and I've lost more friends than I can even count because of drugs. I have a really hard time with loss and coping with it so to see the strength coming through TobyMac it's 100% God's strength that's what I've realized is I don't have the strength that's why I need a savior to give me his strength. Thank you for your beautiful respectful reaction 🙏💖

The visuals that hit me hardest are the shots of his empty arms. I've not lost a child to death, but have had to send foster children from my arms to their bio parents, knowing that they would not be loved or cared for well. Those first nights, when I was used to hugging them goodnight, but my arms were empty... whew! I can't describe it. There too, the pain becomes a part of you, you get used to it, but it never goes away. All I can do is pray that God will provide someone else to really love them. Thank God we had openings when most of them came back into care. There's only one who I don't know of her fate. Another thought that comes to mind is that God really KNOWS what it's like to watch His Son be tortured and killed. He really does understand our pain, beyond what we can imagine.

Pain makes the best musicians and artists. Pain get you in touch with your emotions and allows you to express it more clearly in your work. The devil seeks to kill and destroy. He will try to get you to turn from God by taking the lives of those you love. It can be turn around to create new things in you let it. Steven Curtis Chapman created the back up camera after his toddler daughter accidentally got ran over. After the release of Cinderella which was about a father dancing with his daughter at the ball before giving her to the prince....tragic...this is why we need to be right with God, so we can all be with each other in heaven.
