43 and can still hang with the teens in build mode😂 whats this no build nonsense , kids are so predictable with their edits, and all the playing styles i find are very similar they all copy each other with minor changes in styles of game play. Cant triple edit constantly in battle but double edits are no problem for this ol guy😂👍👍💯

Excellent video! I’ve been trying to improve and this just opened my eyes on what I was doing wrong. I take way too many 50/50 fights. Too many times I over extend and lose or take unnecessary damage cause I’m overly aggressive. Thanks for all the tips on resetting a fight and turning it to your advantage. Keep it up, you’re doing an amazing job!

Notes to self: - Prioritize right shoulder peek advantage. Never go left shoulder. - Prioritize high ground, and take peek shots to abuse head glitching. Don’t forget to move to different angles. - Don’t ever use bad high ground: where you can’t see the person below you unless you go to the edge of the high ground. - If you get hurt in a 1v1 and lose the advantage, rotate away to regain the advantage and let them go to *you*. - LET THE ENEMY MAKE THE FIRST MISTAKE. One mistake is all it takes to lose. Never give up the advantage. - Never take 50/50 fights. - Ideal fight situation: Good cover + medium range. - Always have space between you so you have the chance to get away. Reset the fight if things go wrong. - “Break” the other player’s camera to avoid being found. - Become a difficult target. Utilize the element of surprise-make them go “This person plays so weird!” - Do not give up in fights, even if it seems hopeless. - Always watch for visual audio. - Keep an eye on your enemies. Anticipate their movements. - Light up your enemy. Keep the pressure on. Knock out their cover.

Two other pieces of advice are how you move between POIs. Sometimes the scenic route is better to prevent you getting caught out in the middle of a field. Equipment helps but even using hills and ridges and help. The other, this season in particular. Watch the Strom and zone. Get close to zone first. My reflex if I see/hear a fight is to run towards it and 3rd party or take advantage. But if I have to run back to the edge of zone, or its about to move... Don't. Move towards zone and predict where you think those players my move from and make them come to you. Helps you keep that long/medium distance.

Toby- congrats on another fantastic video. Great quality and extremely useful as we expect from you. I have a suggestion for a future video- the zero build community seems to be growing recently- and there has been a recent boom in “zero build realistic” maps that seem to be very popular. These maps incorporate bunkers and advanced zero build mechanics to win. I know you provided a short video on bunkers already, but i was wondering whether a video on these realistic maps and how to be effective in them would be something you would be interested in helping us in. One of the main focus in these maps is outplaying others with bunkers. I currently am really struggling with this and despite having good aim, im getting outplayed by others who seem to know how to move around bunkers and place them effectively.

I love how you explain things, show the 2 different perspectives and prove why you should do things the way that you suggest. I also like how you talk at a normal speed. This season my right hand peaks are punished with quick scope headshots, They also get ultra rushed by grapple blades and shockwaves to ruin my advantages of punishing open run throughs. I think an in depth tutorial of using movement to create the strategies of advantage you teach would be great every season.

Great video, as always..! I used these tips in a match today. I was pinned down by a player with an MK, was hurt and I couldn't hit him enough with my DMR. So I waited behind cover until he got impatient and pushed me... I used the right shoulder peek, lined up the shot and easily finished the fight with a pump /SMG combo. this video has been really helpful in my reflection of my strategies and how well I tolerate tough spots but honestly at 40:00 to 42:00 I don't understand why what you did was so wrong. you technically has high ground and he would've been in mantle animation for a second and when you fell (which maybe was the only mistake I could understand, which is giving up the high ground?) You try to go for cover but he was quicker to you. am I missing something? I find a lot of my deaths go exactly like this example so maybe that's why it's hard for me to grasp. edit: I love that you showed the wins but also the loses, it really helps to relate and see ourselves in the situation and imagine how we'd apply the techniques you're teaching btw. you're a great teacher.

Great video. It’s longer so I’m curious what effects that has on its analytics. Very cool bringing in another person to help with demonstrating. Super rad if they were recording their perspective for a simultaneous visualization. That way not only their characters perspective is shown but also the cumulative impact of input and network latency. Your videos are so helpful and I can tell you put the time and effort in to make them more impactful. Thanks 🙏

Yeah the length of it isn't helping the video be promoted / watched all the way through... but I wanted to provide the most value possible and that wasn't going to be done in a 20 minute video. And I didn't want to split into 2 parts just for the sake of getting better numbers.

First off I want to thank you for giving me the motivation to take my Fortnite gaming more seriously. I was skeptical about playing it at first, but I’m really enjoying playing and trying to get better. I usually don’t leave comments like this. One issue I’m running into is I’ll have high ground and my opponents will jump up onto the roof and turn the fight into a 50/50 fight. I typically find myself missing my shots, getting chopped up, and retreating and running to avoid dying. Is there any advice you can offer to help with this? Thank you again for the content. I’m loving your channel.

Do your best to keep them from getting the high ground, if you see them taking it and you can't do anything about it for now, then setup a shot for them to walk into once they are up

Need to add in flare gun and shockwave, when they ping you and shockwave up to you while in high ground etc

Another great tip when fighting someone, if you both are at a standstill you can do what I call baiting. For example if you're on teams you can fake rez someone to bait a push or you can use splashes as a way of either forcing him to heal himself or push both either give you an advantage or give you breathing space witch in my opinion is very important (Love the vids btw❤❤)
