Best advice ever. “You learn from failure, not from success. Success is a confirmation that you learned from your failures. It’s a game your death doesn’t matter. Lastly train train train and watch your replays, replays are an excellent way to see your mistakes so you can build your skill.

A note on Red vs Blue, if you want to practice, you have to force yourself to use the current equipment. Only pick up the current weapons, the current utility, etc. Those modes are always full of clowns spamming rocket launchers and mythics that got vaulted 6 years ago. It's always frustrating to lose an AR fight to Skye's when you're practicing with standard items. But spamming mythics in Red vs Blue isn't gonna improve your Twister Rifle experience, it's not gonna teach you to aim your Sentinel, etc. You've gotta use current equipment to practice, even when clowns are playing dishonestly
@kenyholt5036

They aren't dishonest. If they weren't training like you and have agreed to use current weapons then they are doing nothing wrong.

When Little Timmy runs to the terminal to enter the cheat code, or does the specific dance at the specific spot to get the 400hp item, he knows he's being dishonest. Just because they're cheats built into the mode doesn't stop them from being cheats lol. And when Little Timmy rage quits the lobby after you do the same thing back to him, his intention is clear as day at that point.

To jump off that, Red vs. Blue isn't the best environment to practice I feel. ZB The Pit imo is a much better space to practice thanks to the variety of structures on the map as well as the general playerbase there being much better than RvB. Plus, you don't have to deal with any stupid rocket/mythic spam! It's generally where I go to play when I want to practice or warm up before jumping into some games.

@@solruptoryt But you have to deal with people using the special grapple to fly all through the map and camp on top of the outside walls. Some people are just obnoxious and only want to dominate others by all means necessary.

The three things that massively improved my gameplay were/are constantly aim train. It’s a perishable skill. Stay fresh. Hot drop for at least the first few games to get into fights, get warm and gain experience. And lastly, just go faster. Loot faster, move around faster, look for other players faster. My game sense took a big jump after forcing myself to push through the game at a greater pace. Thanks to Toby’s videos I got my first ever back to back crown win this season and I’ve been able to repeat that again. And I consider myself a below average Fortnite player. If I can do that I’d bet just about anyone could. Keep improving guys!

Switch lobbies are…. Interesting to say the least 😂 I’ve watched my buddy play and it’s bizarre how bad everyone is. He’s 33 and just started and has 200+ clowns and legit wins almost every single solos game. But in duos he’s almost useless because he’s so used to just having these weird silly 50/50 fights with 8 year olds. Absolutely 0 disrespect to this guy who sent this who has the best attitude about improving but just some context about how/why he was making it to end game and how/why his lobby was so forgiving 😂 Note- I play with another switch player who’s better than me 😂

Well done to the player that sent this in. Not easy to do knowing that the play will be scrutinised. Hell I was ready to quit playing the other day as I had a bad day in all lobbies I entered (I thought I turned a corner the previous day as I was placing well and aim improved….well, thought it had!). We all have to start somewhere and I wish them all best in the upcoming seasons.

as a total noob that's some very sound advice about carrying the typhoon. I carried the typhoon and noticed my aim was suffering way way WAY more. I purposely avoid the typhoon because when I carry it I tend to lean on it. your map has been very helpful on the aiming and Shockwave mobility. I tended to use the Shockwaves and always got sent the complete opposite way. as for landing again that is some great advice! I land at the frog and the city because I know a ton people land there and force me to combat. its always satisfying when I come out of those spots with 25 hp and 4 elims. good stuff and great upload. I watched your stream yesterday on yt and maaaan you is goooood!

It's crazy to see this because I remember just a year ago being at this level (when i started playing FN) what really helped me was watching these videos, spending 20 mins at least before matches on aim training creative maps. Learning the meta is big what items you should carry how to prioritize healing first before loot or another fight even if that means leaving briefly AND ALWAYS FIND COVER IN FIGHTS AND RIGHT SHOULDER PEAKS. It takes practice we all start here.

The advice that worked for me was one on another of your videos about seeking cover instead of running from fights. It makes a big difference; the enemy gets really nervous/anxious when you fight back despite having low health. Another one I saw a lot on your videos that I use, it is to use your car as cover. It works really well.

I just went hiatus from this game due to work and my tips are , USE YOUR BOONS AS AN ADVANTAGE. All of the boons are really overpowered right know it's going to help you mid to late game Water boons also STACK to regenerate your HP/shields faster. Wind boon , if you equipped your pick axe your movement speed will increase slightly Use this boon to avoid breaking your Typhoon Blade on the late game. Fire boon is really good on Twinfire Shotgun because of the terrible long reload speed. And also Shieldfish are literally good since fishing in any bodies of water even if it's a small pond , you can fish it. I've been using shieldfish as a replacement for Big Pots because it takes a lot of time especially if you're in a combat.

My sister is new to the game and I came back to Fortnite after a 5 year break to help/coach her. I am by no means a great player. Honestly average at best, but I always tell her, "A win is a win, it doesn't have to look fancy. A practical win is ok. No one's opinion of your gameplay matters when youre the victor." I am teacher her movement skill slower than practical positioning, because more often than not you can outplay an opponent with more skill if you put them in disadvantage. She's got a lot to learn, but she's doing great. She's saved my overthinking butt many times, because sometimes the right way is to just rush in. (Which I rarely do.) 😅

Great video Sensei. I must mention, it's not always Internet connection and aim. Majority of gun fights are won or lost because of FPS. 120 FPS vs 240 FPS... no matter how good you are, if you're 120 FPS you have a HUGE disadvantage. The other player is seeing double the information you are. If you are at 60 FPS against... 240 FPS.. you're basically a bot. It would be cool to see you play on 60 FPS and coach from that POV. That would really help people. The majority of players are on 60 FPS. Even if they are on ps5. They need the right TV.

The power of a preemptive TP is one of the strengths of this item that is under utilized. Before fighting that last player I would have tossed a bush up on the hill and placed a TP in it. So no matter what happened I could always hit the TP button and be back on high ground and cover.

what does a "good" player typically get for accuracy on their aim? i have been super frustrated, ive made it to level 335 i think so far this season but have not won a single match yet, and my accuracy is typically aroudn 45%. soemtimes higher. often between 8-12 elims per game, and often finishign in the top 5 or top 10. but i cant get a damn win, and it drives me nuts. i can beat all the bosses no problem, even handle some 3rd partiers on the island, but even with the medallion and legendary weapons someone will get me in the end game. its so frustrating.

@HowThatHappen 12 күн бұрын
If you want accuracy numbers sliinky shows his stats after every match so just go check out some of his videos, pop to the end and see what he gets. Honestly I don't really look at it so I have no idea but I know it's there. If end games are your problem, I feel like you may be trying to be too aggressive, or your positioning, rotation, timing of fights, and/or decision making are likely to blame. If you're getting 10 kills a game I can tell your fighting is probably decent. In a true end game you need to be more opportunistic. You need to be calculated on who you fight, who you shoot, and even when you shoot. Sometimes it's just better to let other people fight. Then clean up if needed. If the zones tend to be small when you die and your playing zero build consider carrying bunkers. These can help with lack of cover in smaller zones. Analyze your gameplay and ask yourself which one of these things is your main issue because I feel like one of them is. The main thing is in order to win you need to stay alive. So figure out why that's not happening.

This is what I said to my duo when we started playing and I started watching your videos and evolve Jake. My duo and I started playing in ch4 s4 and he was better than me, but I focused on getting better instead of getting as many high kill wins as possible, I would be playing the pit and red v blue and some of your maps and he would be spamming the light saber in br. It's been a little longer than a year now and he can never be at me in a 1v1 because every season he would spam the no skill melee weapon instead of using the guns, he would carry a sword instead of a shotgun and he still does to this day even though I tell him "if all you do is spam a broken AOE melee weapon that aims for you your never going to get better". I try to teach him how to use cover but he doesn't understand how to play without melee, whenever we 1v1 now he quits in 2 rounds because he can't hit me when I ban melee, and when I don't ban melee I still win half the time using actual weapons. After a while I said "I'm playing solos from now on until you start getting better again".

@mythical___Jinx
@mythical___Jinx 12 күн бұрын
I have to ask, why do peple suggest creative? it does Nothing to improve skills as the fights in creative do NOT translate into Br, in creative you have nothing on the line and you are more willing to do a ballsey move, where as in br you are more reserved and fear of dying is a factor. its a high influence factor in my book. Taking that away is like try to learnt o ride a bike but not eventually taking off the training wheels. How do we learn without failure? I do agree with the 3 weapons approach and eventually only using 2 weapons even and having a mobility item that is also a weapon so example woudl be shotty, ar, sword, shockwaves, heals. thats my normal loadout and i often us all of the guns as i want to be well versed in all guns.

The same reason professional baseball players do batting practice. Or NBA point gaurds do 3 point drills. It's purely about mechanics. In an end game 1v1, I will put a $5,000 bet on the player who has spent 2,000 hours playing creative training maps vs the player who has spent 2,000 hours playing BR. The creative player will have 10X the mechanical skill of the BR player.

@mythical___Jinx if your aim and movement + positioning and awareness is trained 10x more than others who play BR and just run around looting and fighting ai, you will be a far better player. 80% of time spent in a br game is not fighting. Good creative maps for training like my own are a surefire way to improve. Zero Build Zone Wars or rapid 2v2s also have more stakes like real games and will get your heart pounding. At the end of the day, danger or not - if your aim and movement is insane, it naturally translates to game.

I do not play solos much as i find it super dull. I prefer squads. Even if its just fills. I cannot stand traveling in a pack though i prefer to be an outlander as i know i am not aggro. I am strat. I like to go at angles and use cover and use all of guns. I do not run into any battle half coocked i always have a plan and am very evasive. Also thankyou for taking the time to answer

People need to stop using crouch as much in fights. Crouching turns what would have been taking body shots from an enemy into giving them free headshots on you. Also try to have an AR over an SMG, you get better damage options from an AR. You get distance as well as good close range damage with an AR. The AR is also more controllable than an SMG when it comes to spamming shots.

This is so true. I do it a lot in end game OG ZB. Final circles are very hide and seek. If someone drops on you though, you literally just get beamed in the face with 0 response time.
