This car was the most impressive car that came out of Detroit in 1958. Over 50 years later, it still has plenty of style and character.

I love the echo that buddy's 'rave on' had. It makes me feel like this car comes from a far gone age, gives it depth.

I like the fact that you didn't repaint it......I like the patina. It's a survivor and a driver, not a showpiece.

I find it interesting that before the movie Christine came out, most people saw the 58 Plymouth as a rusty, gas-hogging dinosaur with big fins the creeped along local roads. Today they are all considered desirable classics, especially the 2 door models! My uncle had a yellow 58 Suburban (base model) wagon. I think it had the flathead 6 and for sure it had a manual transmission on the column. A real clunker but one day in the parking lot of our favorite burger joint, he accidently got the passengers' door caught up against a brand new cherry red 64 Olds Cutlass hardtop. In one light motion the old Plymouth ripped the Oldmobile's door off its hinges! We all laughed at the cheap, tinny GM A body's door compared to the vault-like door of the Suburban!

I see the 58 Plymouth as a beautiful car. My mom said something about them being an ugly car and that they were a poor man's car. I see the car a totally different way.

@@isaacsrandomvideos667 the guy is wrong about the poor man's car actually the Savoy was a car that was budgeted to the average working man whereas the fury was more of a little man's car and the Suburban Station Wagon was the family man's car and if you're very fortunate enough and had a little bit more money you could have gotten yourself a Fury Sport convertible..

At around 2:08 it looks like a rusty bent up version of Christine creeping up from behind. With the lighting and rusty faded paint with the glow of the headlights make it look like something from hell. What a truly gorgeous car. Chrysler Corp. by far made the best looking cars in the late 1950s beating out the Chevy Bel Airs and Ford T-Birds.

Absolutely beautiful! Very well done. The whole environment and the music! GOD! #loveit Thank you very much for sharing this with us. I hope the Savoy still goes for many years!

The hardest '50s Mopar to find parts for, given how slim the aftermarket is for these, the folks who restore (especially if they're willing to deal with those dodgy TorqueFlite transmissions) and drive them are real heroes in their own right.

Glad you didn't paint this old baby the patina suites it just fine. My favorite Plymouth was the 59 fury, she was one of my favorite cars of all time. I even liked it better than the 57 Chevy. My cousin was born in 57 and he own two of them, he had a hard top and a convertible, he was an aircraft mechanic and both of his cars were mint. He lived in Michigan and loved his classics.

51 years ago while I was in High School I bought a 58 Plymouth Belvedere 4 dr with the 318 engine and 2 speed Powerflite transmission also Chryslers full time power steering. I paid $100.00 for the car and drove it daily for a couple of years. Finally the rust was taking over the body and I sold it. Never had a problem with the power train. Sometimes I think late 50s cars came pre-rusted from the factory...
