Wow, can you imagine having a bird of prey of any kind for a mascot? Because let me tell you, if I had the opportunity to have one as a representative, I’d choose an osprey or a barn owl. I love all kinds of creatures, especially birds of prey but there’s something about those two in particular that always catches my eye. The osprey is a hawk that feeds exclusively on fish in any body of water while the barn owl has those mesmerizing autumn colors in their plumage that makes them… beautiful. It reminds me of the time where I visited a raptor center in South Carolina not too long ago and I observed many kinds that I often see or hear about in documentaries. Kind of a letdown that they didn’t have ospreys in their care but nevertheless, it was a real treat.
