I did not know about Selena till few years ago. I was a kid when she died and I don't even know how well known she was in Europe at that time. But I am a major fan of latin music and since I started watching telenovelas I started slowly listening to the music and so I found few years ago some Selena songs. And when I googled her and found out that she died so young I was sad. It made me really emotional. And I was also wondering what would the music industry look like if she was alive. Jay Lo, was incredible as Selena. She made people fall in love with Selena. I think it was a powerful movie and a power portrayal of her family the ups and downs of family life especially in the entertainment business. The guy who played her father well-known Latino actor, I forget his name now but he was fantastic. The movie really portrayed how fathers are so important to daughters especially in that type of situation where she was groomed by her dad to be a singer and he really Believed in her which was so so important.
