I've actually tried to be hypnotized by health professionals, that were known to be good at it. Even opening my mind, my mental barriers were too strong. I'm a very strong & independent individual. I can see why this didn't work. Other times, like also hypnosis in class, no effect at all.

There was a guy who really was a hypnotist and extremely good at it. He could hypnotize people in a few seconds. He could hypnotize a group of people in a few seconds. I saw him on TV. He was so good that the station had to cut the audio off and turn the camera away to prevent viewers being hypnotized. It was scary actually.

+Linh : No, it's not. I understand mind over matter and can utilize it very well when needed, and I tend to have excellent control over my mind and body. But, that isn't applicable in this scenario. If I wanted this junk to "work" on me, I would literally have to pretend it was working (which, technically, means it's not working). I'm just not gullible enough to fall for it, nor would I want my mind to be weak enough to be "controlled" or manipulated by somebody else's words and/or suggestions. For this stuff to work, you either have to be weak-minded and naive, or you have to force yourself into it (which is basically the same thing as just playing along and/or pretending it's working - like many people tend to do), Please don't tell me I lack mind control because, in this case, it's actually the exact opposite. Those who can be manipulated by this crap are the ones who have insufficient mind control. Obviously, you would have to lack control of your mind to allow your mind to be controlled by another person. Things like meditation, a strong willpower, and keen self-awareness are examples of things that benefit from optimal control of your mind, not susceptibility to hypnosis.

Steven Steven aw man I hate that it became fake as soon as I wanted to become a hypnotist and looked at people faking hypnotism and was like: heck yeah, this is fake! Nah, people will fake stuff because it gives them an excuse to do things. I figured I’d look into the videos to see the fakers and this was an amusing faker but Al *probably* got into hypnosis. If you want the cool stuff, handshake interrupt inductions are cool. Stiff arm is a nice setting that really mess with people and so on. I do highly doubt that any amount of anything will prove hypnosis to you until you get hypnotized. Looking for the affects of hypnosis rather than allowing for yourself to be hypnotized can lower success rate and further convince yourself of it not being real. Also believing it isn’t real, the Hypnotist can’t hypnotize you, and won’t do so can also lower success rates to dismal amounts. (It won’t happen.) Odds of proving hypnosis to you are very low. However, rule of thumb: Stage hypnotism isn’t to be trusted as people get an excuse to act stupid. If you care about finding out if hypnotism is real then look to stuff about like Milton Hyland Erickson, he’s the person who taught me about basic hypnosis’ favorite hypnotist, master of handshake induction, he was in the APA, and was the founding president for the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
