I’ve been following this case for a while. I’m not sure who, but I feel she was sitting, parked in the car with her killer, who she knew. It was cold so the car was running. The killer strangled her to death. During the struggle, she put the car in reverse and floored the gas, causing it to back into the house. I even think she did this intentionally as a desperate, last ditch attempt to stop what was going on (the strangling). The person killed her, removed and ultimately disposed of her body. As for who did it. It could have been the drug dealers. Perhaps that’s who she saw at the mall, and made an arrangement to meet them later. Seems like many people thought it was them. Could also be possible that the “boyfriend” and the jealous girl was involved. There are a few famous cases of this exact thing happening. Of course I’m not diagnosing anybody, only speculating about what could be happening in a situation like this.

Good theory. Suicide wouldn't be my first option. Her behavior and mood seemed relatively stable. There wasn't a suicide note. I've also heard that people want to be found and don't take off their glasses typically during suicide. I'd love to know if that last bit of info is true. I wear glasses and I can't imagine removing them, as if it's on my mind while I'm killing myself. ... "just speculating on what could be happening in a situation like this"

I think it was the drug dealers as well. Rumors can often be very revealing and a lot of people in the town suspected the drug dealers. I think she got off work from the diner. Had cash in her pocket from the tips she made. Met her drug dealers at a locally known location, the Dutchburn house. Something went wrong and she was killed, beaten or kidnapped. Maybe she owed them money or maybe she was trying to buy drugs and they tried to rob her.

I'd like to dispell a few myths. 1) Suicides frequently occur without the victim leaving a note. Often, they are trying to avoid exposure. 2) Dishwashers get tipped out by the waitstaff. They are an integral component of a functioning restaurant, but seldom are respected enough by the owner (one of the least integral components) to be paid a reasonable wage, leaving that burden to be dependent on the kindness of people dependent on the kindness of strangers. 3) I must preface this by acknowledging that no one in this thread brought this up. Rather it was Dr. Grande himself who said it. A dedicated practitioner of Aikijusjutsu or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is absolutely equipped to defend themselves against multiple attackers who may or may not exceed them in height and weight. There are many styles of Aikijusjutsu but they all share a few common traits. a) They are taught solely from the defensive point of view. b) Rather then pit the practitioners muscles against their attackers muscles where the person with the most muscles will likely win, jujutsus pit the attackers joints, where we are all equally vulnerble, against the practitioners core and hip muscles, the strongest sections of our musculature. This is accomplished by exploiting the vulnerabilities of our skeletal anatomy through a combination of geometry, kinesiology, trigonometry, leverage and the neurology of both the attacker and the practitioner, exploiting the primitive nature of the fight-or-flight mode of thinking. The efficiency of the techniques ensure maximum results for minimal effort. c) They are all extremely strong medicine. IMHO, she made the conscious decision not to fight the girl in parking lot because she did not want to go jail. Because they are a defensive art, the principles of receiving, blending with, amplifying, concentrating and returning the energy given by the attackers initial attack means that bones and joints get snapped with ease, usually in a way that makes a complete recovery unlikely. "I threw a punch and then as if by magic, I was slammed upon the earth in a way I had never experienced before. " is a common sentiment expressed by people after their first encounter.

Yes, weighing in at a Buck Ten, she wouldn't have had much of a chance against say Ed Kemper at 6-9'' and 275 pounds. The whole jujitsu thing is a fad for many people, that just like to be a part of a movement. I went to Karate class at my gym, and asked what to do if cornered by 2 attackers in a bar. It really comes down to where she trained. If it was a McDojo where the idea is just to have fun then I agree. But even someone who is 110 should be able to keep from being carried away from someone who isn't huge if they trained at a competent gym. And yeah, the best advice is to stay away from trouble. If not, avoid getting involved when the trouble starts. If you cannot get away then don't try to calm them down. The moment they close distance you have to act. Of course that doesn't help if they have a gun or a knife, obviously. Especially if this woman is far away from anyone else.

I don’t think you really know what you’re talking about. BJJ is one of few martial arts where weight gaps aren’t that big of a handicap especially if she was facing someone with no training. I would roll with people 60lbs heavier on the daily and technique wins over brute strength 9/10. Weight can only get u so far in BJJ. If their were multiple attackers though she would have no chance

I think the people saying “a heavier person can beat a trained BJJ martial artist” never really trained BJJ. One of the first rules you learn is that weight advantages don’t really matter in BJJ. I’ve seen 140lb women tap out 210lb trained brown belts. This is not uncommon. Many BJJ competitions do t have weight classes because weight isn’t that big of a deal. Actually they prefer you not to lift weights and gain weight so you use technique. Now it does matter how much training Brianna has , but if her assailant was untrained or unarmed she could easily catch him. She could fight off her back

New Jersey drivers are notorious - and have been for generations. I still blame the retirees from NYC who never learned to drive until after retiring and moving to New Jersey. Which reminds me of a true story about one such retiree (whom I'll call Lenny). Lenny and his wife usually had breakfast at the local café. After several days absence the other regulars asked one of Lenny's friends if he knew where he was, as they hadn't seen him driving around for awhile. "Oh, his wife's sick," was the answer. "That's terrible, but he can still come for breakfast." Then Lenny's friend explained that Lenny relied on his wife to let him know what traffic was ahead and where to turn, etc. as he couldn't see. They never realized he was blind as his driving was no different than any other New Jersey driver.

Although those factors put people at a greater risk, it does not always ends up in murder and/or disappearances. Some people are able to clean up their acts and lead a productive life. Since she was only 17, I think there was a chance that she could revert her situation. But she had no chance…😕

Rejane, we had a case like this in Australia. A teenager, when missing, the boyfriend was a person of interest, but the police couldn't find her. Eventually they got a seach warrant, they found the girl hiding in his home. The public, were outraged.

In 2004, the “on your own at 18” idea was still pretty popular. The COL-to-income ratio was still on the favorable side of that ideology in most of the US. There were personal items of hers found strewn about the grass around the car too if memory serves. Some of the leads of her body being dismembered seem likely it's just a question of if she overdosed or was murdered and it seems murder is way more likely unfortunately (due to the car)

Elderly brothers who lived in the house previously were assaulted in a home invasion. I believe it was 1986. Two perpetrators were arrested and given stiff sentences. The brothers never recovered and eventually Sold their cattle and ceased farming.

Growing up in the actual area where she disappeared and being the same age as her when it happened, really shook me. Very confident that the two drug dealers had something to do with it. There's no lights on our roads or in the Black Lantern Inn parking lot. The car was old - you could probably get into it easily. I think someone waited for her in the back of the car and attacked her when she was driving. The tip off about her being in Berkshire at their apartment always made sense to me. The cops around here aren't the top brass and I'm sure there was a lot of mistakes made. Early 2000s is when hard drugs really started to take a foothold in Northern VT - we attracted a lot of serious street dealers to a rural farm town because of the once ease access to Canada. There are and were a lot of transients, but they had their names and address and still don't have their DNA to compare, which seems unacceptable. I feel she's right under our noses somewhere - we just need to keep looking, literally. Also, they could have dumped her in a 'shit pit ' - they don't freeze in the winter and March would def have been liquid. Seems like the best place to get rid of someone, but no one checked.

Saundra - Just a thought on this subject - she had just found out that her husband was in love with someone else and I don't think she could stand staying in the same house with him or discuss her feelings right then. She also had a young daughter and probably didn't want to break down in front of her. Just needed time to grieve and collect herself. At this point the only thing that might secure a conviction would be DNA, but without a body and significant additional evidence there's no way they could make a case. This case will likely remain unsolved forever and the killers are out there doing who knows what other evil.

What convinces me that it was somebody she knew who was to be her murder was what her mother reports about when they were shopping together. The mother reports that something appeared to catch her daughter's attention while see was looking out through the store's window. Her daughter then left the store, after telling her mother that she would come back. Though her daughter did not come back in the store, she was standing by the car when her mother came out. The mother noticed that her daughter had become somewhat agitated at some point after leaving the store, but, looking around, the mother did not see anything that should have caused her to be agitated. It is hard for a child to get much past a loving, caring mother. And they had just had a good day shopping together before this moment. Little did the mother know that these rather mild signs were prodromal to a, most likely, deadly end for her daughter. For the night of that same day, her daughter disappeared.

You cannot collect money from someone who is dead. Unless she was killed "to prove a point" then it doesn't make sense. Losing money is bad, going to prison for life is much worse. Since there was not blood at the scene I don't see that it would have been a rage killing over the money. If she was killed to make a point about paying money back then I would expect others to know as a point was being made. My money is on someone in her group, such as the girl who hit her, talked someone into helping get rid of her.

Unless they owed her money (that's a real motive) and that's why she agreed to meet them alone at night. Her paychecks were in the car uncashed. FBI said the car looked staged to appear as an accident. After they pulled her out (her broken necklace near the car) they crashed the car. Just a matter of time until her remains are found

I just did some research on Dr. Wilber and Mason. I didn't know Sybil/Shirley was raised in a strict Seventh-day- Adventist. That would explain a lot. The cousin I told you about in an earlier post was SDA. I was raised in an SDA family. I ran away a lot. I got out away as soon as I could. Also, I worked at U of K during the time she was there. You’re spot on as usual! *one thing for others’ edification (or not, and this is common knowledge): not all drug dealers are surrounded by/or perpetrate violence. Some just deal enough to have a supply for themselves, and a little extra change. These low-level users/dealers usually have menial jobs because they can’t, or won’t, obtain further skills/education to advance themselves on a career ladder. They mostly deal with people they consider friends…the most violence they together commit is killing time. Actually, a small person CAN learn technique(s) to take down a bigger assailant.

I've followed this case, for years. It being so eerie, and in the same region I'm from. Her killers are Nathaniel Jackson and Ramon Ryans... I believe that 100%. She more than likely, saw one of them earlier In the day, and they were pressing her for owed money. Ramon is free, living in NYC to this very day. I’m wondering if she had a dealer she regularly bought drugs from. Perhaps she was there to buy drugs and her dealer decided she could be kidnapped and trafficked and no one would know. She must have been in a panic or a big hurry to back into the house the way that she did. I think she may have been trafficked for her drugs.

Am I missing something or is there a reason that an officer would come upon a car backed into a house, find personal belongings and no person next to what appears to be a lake, though that may be a snowy field, it was March, assume it was a drunk driver, and then not even run the plates to see if it was stolen or reported missing or connected in any way to a living human being? Even if it was a drunk driver, they might have wandered off into the field and died from exposure. The officer could surmise there was a single female who left her personal items (red flag). How did this did not register to an officer that this is a rather unusual find and perhaps he should investigate further? Oh, and the boyfriend didn't think this was odd enough to report that he saw a car he recognized jacked up on the Old Dutch Bern House? I've recently listened to several of your videos and I'm seeing a pattern of either ignorance or disregard from police who at the very least should have been alerted to situations that are not going to end well, yet did nothing but I digress. I'd venture to guess, based on having been 17 and stupid myself, she was likely waiting to meet or met up with someone. At some point, for whatever reason, could have been smoking crack, backed into the house, couldn't get the car to move, got out and after running off a string of naughty words, either started walking home (assuming the person she met had already left or never showed) or the person she met shoved her in their car and the rest is a mystery.

There's no reason to think the cop didn't investigate further, look up plates etc. She wasn't known to be missing at that point. Anyway, perhaps he needed to follow up on some other matter that people on some other comments section would criticize him for if he didn't.

I think she was still in the driver's seat and someone did something to her to make her hit the gas with the car still in reverse. Car inside doesn't have to look like a struggle. When I went through what happened to me, my car was not disturbed at all. Someone took her. My 1st thought was he was in the backseat. But maybe picked up a druggy friend to go do some drugs and things went south. I dont think she just left nor killed herself.
