A few years back I stopped for an infant (that's right baby in nappies) crawling across the middle of the road. I got out, picked him up and the person behind me starting yelling at me for stopping and holding up traffic. This is not a joke... I was just totally stunned. I took the child to the nearest house and it was the right one. The parents basically scooped it up from me and went back inside without even a thanks... I swear some days, you just wonder if the people around you are even humans...

I hear you. I am 5 foot 3. I just helped a woman push her stalled SUV out of the intersection over to the side of the road, in the middle of a pandemic. She didn’t even say thank you. I’m like do you know how hard it is for somebody who is small to push an SUV? I’m staring directly into the face of a man sitting on a park bench who didn’t lift a finger to help. I thought to myself what is wrong with this world? I am female and I’m left to push a car while here is a man sitting there watching me. But a different man quickly ran across the intersection and jumped in to help. So even though there are countless idiots in this world, there are also countless wonderful people. You know you did the right thing. You helped save this baby’s life. You made the world a better place. Might not have mattered to irresponsible parents, but it mattered to that child. 🙌🏽

In his naive little innocent toddler mind, that was the only danger he conceived. Thank GOD for the rescuers ... that the driver man who stopped recognized that it was a child (not a signpost), and that he was a GOOD man who stopped and rescued the child from soon being hit by a car, as trying to recross the highway, or kidnapped. It was just today i was looking after my 19month old grandson.. The plumber left thru the front door and I went into the kitchen to put the kettle on ...that was it ..30sec max and my grandson had opened the front door that wasn't shut properly and was about to start toddler-ing his way down a flight of stairs! I found a two-year-old little baby in downtown LA shopping district .. he was just running up and down the street .. a little Black baby and everybody around him was Spanish speaking Hispanic .. so I gather him up call the police .. I kept in with me all day talking and waiting for the police .. I took him to the movies, took him to get something to eat, and bought him some clothes .. when the mother finally showed up later on that night and met me at the theater .. she just walked over there and said "there you are" and pick them up and walked out of the theater .. she didn't even tell me spit! 😲👎🏽👎🏽

@@LowlightTonight not all cases you don't have any idea it could happen to anyone not because they're negligent. it happened to me when my kids where both at a young age. a 3 year old and 1 year old. our first night to the new apartment I was literally TIRED for repacking and unpacking, arranging our stuff while dealing with 2 kids.. we needed new child lock but it was our first night, we only had 1 vehicle and my husband was at work until late. I put my kids to their new room while i fall asleep on our room. my sleep was so deep that I just woke up with my 3year old crying loud with few people near my door holding my 1 year old who crawled all the way to the driveway around 5:30AM! my 3 year old must have woken up and didn't found me and he was not familiar with the new place. he opened the main entrance door thinking i was outside.. his loud cry woken his baby brother and the baby just crawled all the way to the driveway. I didn't care what other people say.. yell at me or get mad at me but i was just grateful that my son was safe because of them... in fairness tho, they weren't mad. things could have went ugly yes but Be a little less judgmental towards some parents because we don't do it intentionally and if anything bad happens, it is us that will take that burden for the rest of our lives.

Happen to my coworkers sister. Grandma left and the boy decided he wanted to follow. Opened the door and headed outside as soon as his mother stepped out of the room. A man found him walking on the on other side of the subdivision while mom was calling others and waiting on the police. I did something similar at about 3 years old. My mom had an iron hand & watched us like a hawk, but it only takes a second. Mom was cooking breakfast one morning & offhandedly said that dad wanted eggs but we were out of them. Being a daddy’s girl, I was going to make sure he had what he wanted, so I went out the back door (we weren’t allowed to play in the front yard) & through the gate. I walked down our street & across lanes of traffic to the Piggly Wiggly whereupon I told an employee that my daddy needed some eggs. The manager became involved, recognized me & called my parents (long ago, in simpler times, when businesses knew their customers.) By this time, my parents were in full blown panic & my dad was about to go look for me. I’m sure I got scolded, but it don’t remember it. I also don’t remember the walk or crossing the street. I DO remember that daddy wanted eggs & telling someone at the store that he needed some. 🤪😅

Be careful judging if it hasn’t happened to you, it will. My daughter was 3 and taking a nap one day and she as sound asleep so I jumped in the shower. When I got out I heard voices so wrapped a towel around me and walked out to the living room. There were 5 people standing there with my daughter telling me I was a terrible mom because they found her in the apartment parking lot. She had pulled a chair over and unlocked the slide lock and the handle and walked out. I was a single mom so showered anytime she was asleep. I was so thankful for those folks but was by far not a bad parent.

When I was in preschool if my younger brother was bothering my naps I used to go under the tables or beds just any furniture or items I can hide in so I can sleep. So my parents had it the first time where they almost made an official report for a missing kid. Then they knew better just to check under things including piles of clothes. I felt bad bc Im their first child so it mustve terrified them when it happened. Now Im in my 20s I still did it, not the hiding part but if my sleep is disturbed I'll just get up to find another place to sleep.

Funny how inititially I'm thinking, "How can parents be so clueless letting their young child wander down the streets like that?" But then I gotta remember to keep my mouth shut because I once pulled a stunt like this when I was 4 or 5 years old. 😂😅 I had a little red tricycle and I was mad that my dad and sister was walking to the store which was several blocks away and my mom told me no that I couldn't go with them. My dad said no. They were only going to make a fast trip but I really wanted to go. My mom went into her room and my other siblings were probably playing in theirs so I watched my dad and sis leave through the sliding doors and through my tears I decided that I would follow them. I got on my tricycle and waited till they were far enough to not see me and peddled as fast as my trike would take me. They went about 3 blocks without noticing and cars drove by. And I kinda remember big trucks and going through a traffic light. And calling out to them. After about 30 minutes which seemed much longer they spotted me (I think some cars were honking and pointing at me) and they turned around shocked and scared that I was following them. They took me back home scolding me the whole way and needless to say my mom gave me a much deserved spanking and I never did that again!! So yeah it happens. 😰 lol so glad nothing bad happened.

My brother as a toddler learned to climb. He got so good he was able to unlock the front door and escape off down the street while my mom was in the other room making dinner. It was a nightmare scenario but luckily a neighbor brought him back. My parents installed two more locks the next day. What a toddler can do may shock some people.

Okay, I'm not a parent, but even I know it literally only takes a second for a kid to slip out of sight. You can all sit around and pretend you're the perfect parents, but life happens and some kids are just determined to escape, no matter how diligent the parents may be. (I've seen it first hand with my one friend's mischievous kid who will do anything in his power to try to leave the house. They've pretty much had to rig all the doors to stop him.) My mom was also a great mother, but one day I got the fantastic idea when I was 3 to go visit my mom's friend who lived across a huge field and through the wooded back area. She was busy making me and my brother supper. I walked myself all the way there and let myself in, and thought nothing of it. My mom was already out looking for me, having to stop making supper while wrangling another 4 year-old as a single mom. There's kids out there who are legit not clothed, fed, loved, looked after, sexually and physically abused, and abandoned - so please stop being awful to moms who are doing their best, but make mistakes.
