The impellers I’ve been buying from China have the plastic and I haven’t had any problems even though they cost me a lot less then OEM ones . I just ordered 2 Tohatsu 15hp 4 strokes because there cheap ! Lol. That lower unit reminds me of Mercury a lot ! I was told that they make outboards for all of them excluding Honda ( OMC , Suzuki , Mercury , Nissan ) and that impeller looks like a OMC 1982 and up .

Brass ring on impeller transfers more heat and causes delamination

Hi Kodi, want to say I appreciate what you do for those of us interested in all things outboard. I have an 18hp Tohatsu. It sat in someone’s basement for 10 yrs got it to run great. Problem is I haven’t been able to separate lower unit to get to the water pump. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

I would need a bit more info, If all the bolts R out & shift link is disconnected , then it's just a matter of coaxing, If bolts R stuck etc there R other options. lmk kodi

Hey, I have Tahotsu 15 HP 2012 also. Do those eFI go bad easy. My engine is calling for too much gas. It starts fine then floods and stalls. Runs fine without fuel line, but as soon as I hook up gas line it starts to flood

My 90hp tohatsu from mid 90s has the same shift link as this one

Hi Kodi. I'm pretty sure Tohatsu make all Mercury's up to 50hp.
