Despite all of Yoshimura’s good and bad actions, he had a good heart and he cared. Like many other ghouls, he was set up as a target by Washu and a system where killing is one of the fundamental things.

I think Yoshimura is actually quite relatable in his inaction, we all have things we know we should do, but feel like its far too late and the longer we take, the harder it gets and the less impact it will have, until its all but futile. I wouldnt call him a good or moral person, he is just an old guy who has seen all he loves go to hell and the last thing he wishes for is for it to happen to others. Really loved to see this since as a part 1 only character Kuzen hardly gets talked about anywhere as much as the people that make it to Re:.

Yoshimura Kuzen, one of the most goated characters ever written in manga. My fave character in TG. Such a shame he was wasted in RE.

Yeah, no. Kuzen is in no way the most tragic character in Tokyo Ghoul. He ain't even top 5 as a fact. Kaneki, Eto, Arima, Takizawa, Juuzou, etc. They all suffered worse than him.
