Best Ive ever been to in the world actually - its so amazing how its so big but not too comercialised or ticketsed, how you can join IN the actual parade AND also (the most magical thing) that you can see and FEEL the support of the entire town - from straight couiples, to older people, to kids - its AMAZING

Haha, that tea house is worth it just for the servers performance alone. I visited there one afternoon & I think from your video the night view as a slight edge. The pride parade reminds me to the pride parade here in Mexico, very similar in how it is with the parade using the whole street and everyone being able to join at any step and just party, altough the pride parade in Mexico is quite massive in quantity compared to the one in Taiwan, the vibe feels very similar.

It's quite hard to believe that Taiwan was still an authoritarian dictatorship as recently as 30 years ago. Today, it is THE most socially-progressive country, as well as one of the most prosperous and virbrant countries in Asia. It has also grown into a very mature democracy, having recently elected an anti-Communist China president for an unprecendeted third term in a row. What the Taiwanese people have achieved in the past 3 decades is really remarkable.
