on that note it's proNUNciation not pronounciation i know its annoying because it's a variation of the word pronounce so pronounciation makes sense intuitively but that's not what the word is. it's proNUNciation and you pronounce the middle part same as nun

This is why we stan. Prof is just such a lovely person who can't stand to see his friends put themselves down - and since that's Spice's favorite form of comedy (I feel it, it's one of mine too), these interactions are quite common. This whole table is amazing and I wish it wasn't parasocial to say I want to be friends with all of them. (Prof, I'm the drummer in a nationally touring band that maybe a few thousand people have heard of, get your people in contact with mine!)

Sunken City, Merfolk of the Pearl Trident, Lord of Atlantis, Vodalian Soldier, Vodalian Mage, Svyelunite Priest, River Merfolk and Vodalian Knight. Also used Flight in it and Unstable Mutations. Oh, and Counterspell of course. - No, I didn't use the warmachine. Merfolk, Goblins and Zombies were the first true tribal decks with Goblin King, Lord of Atlantis and Zombie Master. Merfolk and Zombies had Bad Moon and Sunken City for additional +1/+1. Goblins were stuck with using Orcish Oriflame for the time being. Old, old magic tribal was a thing though.

I love the accidental(?) ludo-narrative harmony of the nostalgia deck game have tons to do with time; two players with future sight (with the time-traveling magus arriving before the enchantment he's inspired by), Spice in a time loop of repeating the same turn of recurring the dead to recur the memories of magic to evoke glimpses of what's to come. Even Prof's vampires fitting the theme as immortal beings that never age, with Prof himself referring to his life total like his age as if a kind of Benjamin Button type.

The last 6 months i’ve been dealing with my puppy and somewhat of a down period, i found your channel and have been binging since. You made me buy my first commander deck, made step out of my comfortzone and i took contact with local players here in Norway whom i have been playing with the last weeks. If we ever would be crossing paths, whether in the states or anywhere else in the world, i would like to shake your hand and thank you in person. I now have a new passion, and some new friends. They tend to remove the reminder text from all showcase printings, even within the same set the keyword was initially printed. A recent noteworthy example being the Extended Art printings of the Backup creatures from MOM having none of the reminder text for Backup.

Love when Sam and Spice get together. It’s pure magic. Also I’m pretty sure spice is in twink death but like go off with the confidence.

hey prof, pro tip - use that bloodline keeper to make vampire tokens and tap 5 vampires (during someone else's end step so you don't open yourself up to attacks) to just make your crypt ghast a vampire before losing it to your commander...

I love this episode/idea. It honestly just inspired me to try to remember all of the cards I had in my first commander deck I built, Reya Dawnbringer. I had just gotten back into Magic around the Shards of Alara block when I discovered what commander was and Reya was my favorite legend from the past. Talk about nostalgia! Also it shows how differently I thought about deck building back then.

Hey, Prof! The person who actually got me into magic played an old Baron Sengir deck! My first memories of magic are playing a GW deck with Armadillo Cloak, across from a Black deck with Baron Sengir the school cafeteria, during lunch hour in the 8th grade.

Well done! I've felt so nostalgic during this game! I remembered when I didn't like commander but my friends insisted that I'd play with them. Since they were beginners at magic and I had already 10 years into the game, they were blown away when I played with the monoblue Arcanis deck and did archaeomancer + devastation tide, locking everyone from advancing their board state until I'd find something better to do. The game took 3 hours but we were just so into it! They were trying to break my lock while I was trying to do something to get ahead and break the lock myself. I ended up winning the game and they were very impressed by this very simple interaction. Me, full of hubris, said that with such an extended pool , there were even sillier things to be done. I started playing magic with Janosch Kühn's world championship deck, which was some flavor of ponza. When I saw lord Windgrace, I just fell in love and said "I have to build this and show them the fury of ponza!". And that's when I started to fall in love with EDH. It was such a great way of keeping in touch with this group of friends and to brew around some wierd strategy and discuss and laugh... just so good! So everything feels so on brand in this episode, even the land destruction deck! Nummy is just my favorite KZbinr. If it wasn't for him, my pandemic days would've been just hell. Sam is one of the best persons on this planet. Thank you for showing me Dandan! Spice is hilarious! I just can't get enough of them! I just remember last season finale and I start to laugh! And thank you, Prof, for being so good to this community! You are so honest about your feeling about the game, I can share so much of what you say about what this game means to you... Thank you for this blast from the past, it was a nice one :)

The Men at Work setup was great. Even more so because the band members are Scottish born. Of course the English have no idea! 😂 Great episode. I haven’t engaged in mtg for about a year now and it’s fun seeing “old” cards. The complexity level was just right.

Spice is 100% not a twink. The Gay Tribes are all defined based off of two main factors, your body hair & body type (with personality sometimes being important). a Twink is young, thin, & lack significant body hair (usually none at all), "young" doesn't mean age it just means appearance. An Otter is a twink with body hair, usually a big more athletic, but mainly just a twink with body hair. A Bear is a big (specifically fat) & hairy dude, usually older as well, a hairy dude with a bunch of muscles is not a bear, you must be fat or you do not apply! A Dolphin is a bear without hair. A Fox is an otter thats older, there is no equivalent term for twink, most older twinks don't exist (what is jokingly called "twink death"). Cubs are young bears, maybe they have less hair, but really its just that they're younger. Also a Wolf is sorta like an otter or fox but they're aggressive, sometimes described as a slim bear. Some extras include the Hunk, Jock, Twunk, Chub, Bull, Pup, Gym Rat, Gym Bunny, etc etc. Most, if not all of these, are expressly sexual terms. That's something I think people need to remember when casually calling random people a twink. There is also great overlap with the Tribes & the Leather community. These are really important things within queer history! Specifically the history of Gay Men! It's really important to learn I think! Edit: Describing these as just important "within queer history" makes it sound like they've gone away or aren't important today. They still are & always will be! People still continue to describe themselves as all of these things. History never stops, the present is the history of tomorrow & the past is never gone from our lives.
