Are those wheels durable enough for use on road asphalt or concrete? I walk half a mile (one way) to the grocery store. They don't look like the same rubber materials (doesn't rip) used in inline skates that you can use repeatedly for long distances on actual rough street roads. In any case, good review. I've been looking into this vs the original Clax. Thanks.

I honestly don't know how they'd hold up on surface streets. I've used in on the concrete on my driveway and on the grass and it rolls smooth as silk. As for the longevity, I really can't say how long they will last for a trip as long as yours.

Do the wheels come off easy and store underneath?

Not exactly. You can remove them but the idea is to leave them on so it can be unfolded in a couple of moments.
