I think to some extent what Tom said is true. There are exceptions to the rule but not every actor who has played Doctor Who has been best friendsf with all the other actors who have played the part. Or they didn't get to spend a lot of time with the person who was taking over. But like Tom said as well I think there all cordial or friendly towards each other in general and respects each other work. You notice Tom uses all first names, never just last names. Plus for some of them it can be hard to leave the role. Still brilliant, funny and very astute. God bless Tom.

From the sound of things tom is sort of an oddball within the former doctor sphere. All the other classic who doctors still living seem quite chummy in a way that tom isn't. Interesting. Although these aren't negative comments about working on the series, they aren't the most glowing either. Turning over the reigns of the Doctor must be a very somber experience for the actor leaving it. I like that Tom Baker had let his hair grow out for this interview. Add in a little color and I doubt he would have looked much different than his days as the Doctor, just older. I would have loved to see him in the old costume again for the 50th anniversary episode.

@fahadus7 жыл бұрын
The bad thing is. They have all pretty much complained about the amount of work they have to do on the series. It's not just acting for 14 episodes. They're put into too much distress. Eccleston left because he didn't like the "culture". Matt and David both said they loved every second of it but are relieved they don't have to go back to work. Peter Capaldi has already said that he's too exhausted to keep it fresh and that's why he's quitting, which is a big shame. An actor of his caliber should've been given room to breathe, he's got some nice stories under his belt but I still think he was criminally underutilized. BBC needs to take this into consideration. If the actors aren't having a good time like Tom did back in the day. It would be hard to keep this going.

Peter Davidson did scenes with Tennant and Smith on 3rd-7th July. McGann filmed his on 2nd-7th July, McCoy and Colin Baker did scenes on 19th July, and wait for it, after a big kiss and hug from Russell T Davis, Christopher Eccleston agreed to came back and did some short scenes for the last 9 minutes of the episode, but only if they agreed to not try typecast him, filmed on 12-14th September. The three dead Doctors were CGI. Though the 1st Doctor was played by David Bradley in the trotter lane scenes, oh no gave more away, Moffat lied his arse off to you again. Now, please... Just stop trying to spoil it before it has been broadcast. Ps> Don't tell anyone else this info. Because now you won't have anything to look forward to on 23rd November. I'm torn between Tom Baker and David Tennant for favourite doctor. And between Amelia Pond and 'Ace' for favourite companion.

I loved Tom Bakers voice as the Doctor but David Tennant made it for me, I just could not stand Christopher Eccleston, his voice just annoyed the hell out of me.

PIERCED6966 meh for me 9 was my doctor, he was the first doctor I ever saw and made me fall in love with the show, without him I probably would not love doctor who like i do now. However i do agree that Tennant and Baker were great and both made the part their own

Why torn? Baker is your favorite 20th century doctor and Tennant your favorite 21st century doctor the same goes with the companions. p.s. the 90s weren't the best time for great series.

PIERCED6966 Although Tennant is my favorite I was definitely sad when Eccleston left; he was my first doctor.

Oh my god, the richness if Tom Baker’s voice, it’s something from a dream. Sad to hear that the Who actors back in the day weren’t all that warm about it as they passed on the role. I would love if they could bring more of the classic Doctors back, explaining their appearances by similars means of Tim Crash, or some other timey-wimey plot bunny. Especially if we could get Tom Baker and McGann. Have Four fawning over Eight, saying, “Oh my, I can’t wait to wear that face! We’re going to be so fetching, aren’t we?” While whoever is the current Doctor stands in the background, “HEY! He’s not the only pretty one!”

After seeing him in the 50th anniversary, I kind of feel like they need to end the show while he's still alive so it could end with him as the Curator. Or at least film a vague ending with him for future use.

i love the idea of filming an episode wich features him heavily, as the curator, but the show is bigger then tom baker and they should not end it just because he passes away
@GhostPirate610 жыл бұрын
mrbobby331 Well, I didn't mean it like that. What I meant was to film a scene with Tom Baker saying something "Doctor-y" to end the show with. It makes for a nice bookend with the show ending with the Doctor as the Curator.

Tom Baker may be 80 but he's quite healthy at the moment! I don't think he'll be departing this life for quite a while!

SP Murphy Tom Baker easily weighs as much as I do. I wouldn't consider that healthy at his age.
