Traditional roles for men and women in both personal and professional contexts are rapidly changing, and if you want to play the dating game to win and find a mate, you need to understand what makes women tick and how to be authentic while also desirable and irresistible.
In today’s episode of Impact Theory, I’m joined by my wife Lisa Bilyeu for a super deep, insightful conversation around what women actually desire in a guy and WHY; how to become irresistible to the opposite sex; and the complexities of personal choices in the context of societal expectations, gender roles, and personal fulfillment.
Lisa Bilyeu is an entrepreneur, producer, best-selling author, public speaker, and host inspiring and empowering women (and men!) to build their confidence and change their life. Lisa co-founded the billion-dollar brand Quest Nutrition, is co-founder and president of Impact Theory Studios, and she has built a global audience while creating an impressive slate of content that has been viewed over half a billion times.
Be sure to get your copy of Lisa’s recently updated book, Radical Confidence, here: radicalconfidence.com/
We are digging deep into:
- the intricacies of deciding NOT to have children in your relationship
- effects of societal pressures on individual decisions
- dynamics of a healthy relationship
- the struggles and fulfillment that come with ANY decision
- impacts of birth control on relationship dynamics
- shifting perceptions of relationships in modern times
- platforms like OnlyFans and their role in changing the dynamics of sexuality and personal expression
- the concept of "hypergamy" and societal views on relationships
- need for self-awareness and courage to pursue your ideal life
- the importance of communication and mutual respect in relationships
Lisa and I also go head to head as we explore how platforms like OnlyFans can be both empowering and exploitative, the most effective the decision-making processes you can use when it comes to big decisions, and the importance of making your own choices without fear of external criticism.

Yeah, most of the podcasts with several million+ subscribers are essentially a multi-millionaire host interviewing a multi-millionaire guest, and their problems and suggestions are exaggerations of the average person's problems, and the solutions are impossible due to having to live FAR below the means of the millionaire host / guest.

Ambition carries most of those. If someone says they have faith but do nothing of action to their faith would you admire that? Or would you admire they have ambition IN the categories you mentioned. Ambition is the way we apply ourselves in the things we do not the things we do specifically. I hope I can offer a different perspective of the word ambition and how it doesn't negate anything else you said ❤

My main reaction to Lisa's decision to not have kids so she can focus her love on her husband is, love isn't a null sum game. Having kids doesn't make you love spouse less, seeing them as a parent can help you love them more. I wonder if her negative experience as a stay at home wife is giving a negative taste to the idea of another traditional female role, as a mom. It was a neat episode.
@damienthibodeau7612
@damienthibodeau7612 13 күн бұрын
Body count is not necessarily about insecurities, sometimes it's about values. If intimacy is sacred for someone and the other sees it as a mean to an end, there is a clash in values and the two may just not be compatible. If someone is yearning for a real connection but is sharing their body with hundreds of people, words are not matching the actions, at least the execution is wrong. In my opinion, it's a mindset and value indicator.

She sounds like every other woman that has been on Fresh and Fit, literally word for word in some instances. Ambition is tied to money, that's why she said the guy working at McDonald's has to be working towards owning it. She wants to operate in grey areas so she can't be held accountable to any standard, but has a list of things men need to be.

People calling Tom a beta are missing the entire point of this episode. Its his show, his job is to hear the guests' viewpoint and have a discussion in a way that is not confrontational. He doesnt agree with her but he is trying to understand....as good interviewers do. Him talking over her and expressing his displeasure for what she's saying will not move the dialogue along. She's trying to explain things from a womans point of view in an attempt to generalize the concepts that Tom is bringing up. Shes not doing only fans shes explaining why someone might. The fact that people are triggered by them having a tough and vulnerable discussion infront of yall is crazy. They are in a happy and healthy relationship that obviously works for both. You're not in it. At the end of the day, he's rich, and is happily married. Professionally he's built a platform that we all learn from. What you should be taking away from this conversation is how to communicate with your partner. How to listen to understand instead of to fight. They both are hearing each other and that's a beautiful thing.

I hear a lot of “Me”, “my feelings”, and “right now”. That’s behavior that is intuitive in children and a good parent teaches their children to think outside of themselves to their surroundings and their future. Also, seems to be a theme in the feminism movement. Also, I don’t know exactly the best approach here, but something that is often missing from these conversations is not all women in careers are the same and not every “Stay at Home Mom” purpose and existence is the same. It’s often spoken about that if you stay at home with the children that there are only one set of results that are not as “personally fulfilling”. Maybe that’s why they discussed that they don’t recommend one way for anyone. Update: I wrote this before Tom said people might hear what she said and think she’s a “selfish child” who hasn’t grown up 😅

I believe that one reason some women judge young, beautiful girls who pursue (wealthy) older men is because, subconsciously, they recognize that men, irrespective of age, are often drawn to youth and beauty. This notion finds support in Professor David Buss's renowned study, "Sex Differences in Human Mate Preferences: Evolutionary Hypotheses Tested in 37 Cultures," conducted at the Department of Psychology, University of Texas. The study highlights men's inclination towards relative youth and physical attractiveness in potential partners, as these traits signal women's health and fertility. In an interview on Impact Theory with Tom, Buss's student, William Costello, relayed the professor's observation that "Men are cursed as they get older to be attracted to women that are never going to desire them."

"Men are cursed as they get older to be attracted to women that are never going to desire them." This! Let that sink in, fellas! Most young chicks aren't into old dudes! The few who are are rarely mentally healthy. Usually daddy issues or gold diggers. There are a few cases of legit healthy relationships between young women and old men (and vice versa), but most of the time it's a fling or fetish. Most women want someone close to their age and maybe a few years older, but certainly not someone old enough to be her dad or grandfather!

But that doesn't work apparently, at least it's not sustainable. Best thing to be is as much of yourself as possible and discovering who you are. “Ambitious women need an even more ambitious man” Chasing men ahead of you along the masculinity scale doesn’t allow you to say you’ve remained feminine in that process. Just because you have the masculine traits of confidence and ambition doesn’t make you more feminine just because they’re way further along the scale. If you’ve moved along the masculinity scale, you’ve become more masculine by definition. Those top men you’re chasing are looking past you at the truly feminine women at the start of the scale who never ventured along their scale into their territory in the first place. And that start point leads off in the exact opposite direction for women- along the femininity scale. Men have no interest at all in the comparative level of ambition and confidence in women just behind them on a scale they shouldn’t even be on. They’re interest is in absolute femininity, in looking after a kind, loving, loyal and feminine companion. That’s why they’re looking way beyond you back past the start point and along the scale in the opposite direction where the small population of truly feminine women are. They have precisely zero interest in her status or income because it’s their duty and ambition to provide that for her. No ambitious women has ever set out to conquer the business world and become a top earner because she has a constant and abiding vision that it’s all pursuant to eventually looking after her future husband! That would be preposterous. Yet for men that is their evolutionarily imprinted driving force. This is why for ambitious women, it’s all about feminism, breaking boundaries, competition with men, the “patriarchy” and not one jot about providing for her weaker husband. This is why men have no interest in these women or their ambitions. They neither need nor want their resources because their own instincts dictate that they should be the provider. The female confidence that comes with it is a problem too because it’s a proxy for this selfish pursuit of resources instead of the innate, dutiful drive a man has to prepare for and execute the serious task of supporting a family. The last thing he needs is the woman he would be looking after and bearing his kids, chasing him along the masculinity scale, treating it as a competition and throwing away her most fertile years in the process. This is why dating, marriage and divorce have been transformed beyond all recognition, and for the worse, in the last 30 years. And it’s all down to governments implementing policies based on arch feminism and wokery, that led to women being coerced into the workplace: into mainly soft, unnecessary non-jobs that are nevertheless highly paid because they involve a soft, unnecessary degree that no man would ever contemplate embarking on.

Thing is this is ONE person's opinion (or two if you take Tom's into account). Don't be fooled into thinking there is ONE set of qualities, personalities, behaviors that are most attractive to all or even most women (or men). People vary wildly. Find a person you are attracted to that is also attracted to who you are, not about some pre-defined set of qualities that you have to achieve or change yourself to become, because, well, that's not you, that would be a facade simply in order to "get" a woman, and under such pretenses, it's ultimately going to feel pretty hollow if you know they only are attracted to you for something that you are pretending to be/have.

@@dvdmon It’s usually advice from women for men because women don’t take advice that well! Hahaha Women should listen to what men want, not because she has to change or lessen herself, but so that she can actually understand and get what she wants. We rarely do. Men will sometimes listen because they are truly baffled about women. I think it’s better to know how women are wired rather than what they say they want. It is true that women are often delusional, so listening to what they think they want is pointless. But in the same way that men are generally wired a certain way no matter which man you are, so are women.

I dont know why everyone is hating. Like this is where they are in their journey. They are the the point of reflection and can articulate that reflection. Like being mad at a rapper cuz they dont have to rap about the stuggle anymore. Nd all things human relate to all things human. Just because you are broke paycheck to paycheck does not make u a different breed of human. If u cant take something away from anyone talking be it good or bad then thats exactly why u will always be a victim of your own shit. If u dont like it move on. Same reason ur broke is the same reason u take ur time to make sure u say negative shit about a video u probably didnt even finnish.

Wow when I saw his wife, I felt so sorry for him. Such a high quality man, in this kind of marriage...
