Tom is literally the cause of me starting to play the piano. So literal that after watching Maple Leaf Rag video of his, the piece became the first piece I ever learned on piano. Granted, I did have piano lessons for a time when I was a kid (as in like 5 yr old..) and always kept a guitar around me, never being a stranger to music theory, Tom's video was the real kickstarter. My only wish is that he gets better and plays some more Joplin like noone ever did. And who knows, may be a piece from Chopin? Oh please come back...

I'm thrilled to hear Tom has improved. The last update had me worried. I'm a medschool dropout (money issues) so, I know how devastating and lifelong brain injuries are. It's tempting to think he will recover one day, but the truth is, the neurons that make up your brain just don't heal or regrow when they're damaged. The only improvement comes from your brainnliterally rewiring itself around the damaged section. But, with hard work, 30 hours a week of therapy and the determination I KNOW yhat Tom has. He WILL make the rest recovery possible for his situation. Of thay I have zero doubt. He's a strong man.

I hadn't realized Tom experienced an accident of such magnitude. I'm not a die hard fan, but as a young (somewhat on-and-off)pianist, I draw a lot of inspiration from him. Even in this video, I felt very inspired. Over the Garden Wall is a cartoon I adore and Patient is the Night is my favorite song from the show. I really hope Tom recovers soom. Sending this community all my love ❤️

I'm so happy about this. I've been listening to Tom for years on end now, and every play is still as good as the other. The news of progress rekindles my hopes and prayers for Tom. I sincerely wish you good health and recovery, Sir Brier, and I will be looking forward to hear you play wonderful music, once again. Best regards, and much love from Denmark.

I met Tom a week ago, I fell in love with him and the video game's songs and how special Tom is. 2 days ago I found out about the accident, in 1 week this guy, who I don't know, made me so happy, I'm so sorry this happened. All my love to you Tom, even if you don't know me, you deserve and have all my affection and I'm not saying this because of the accident, I say it for the amazing person I met in the videos, even before I knew what happened. I hope you are well.

The whole imagery of the piano being played by itself makes this even more sad.

God bless Tom, hope you do better and all is well. I'm not an avid subscriber or seeker of your stuff, but every now and again it pops up on my KZbin suggestions feed and I can't help but take twenty or so minutes out of my day to act as a time-traveling fly on the wall during your improvisations. I wish you and yours well. Thank you for the update.

I’ve cried for Tom as I can not even begin to fathom how much of a hell it must be to be trapped in a disfunctional body when you are such a great artist. I really hope he’s doing much better now 2 years on. Much love!

I was 85% certain "moved to" was going to be followed by Hospice bc of my impression of the deterioration in the nursing home.. but 100% glad the opposite was what came up!
