I remember my dad used to play this when I was like…6-7. I would look up walk through guides for him while he played. The tension of trying to unlock things when someone could catch you at any second still gets me….even if the AI is a little dumb at times

Its because the PS2 version is far more superior. It had really dark environments making it much more believable. PS3 version has much better story telling mid-lategame than the PS2 version. But PS2 version hands down wins gameplay-wise.

Sadly this game seems to be too buggy on windows 11. I can't change resolution or it crash. Can't change quality settings or it crash. Can't switch screens while playing, if I accidentally hit the windows key, it crash. When playing, it randomly crash and sometimes it deletes the latest save game :/ so I had to start the mission from the start if this happens. I could make it to Shangai (with awful resolution and view settings) but now it just crash right after loading the mission.

The original Xbox version is the best, and is actually canonical to CT (and made by Ubisoft Montreal, as OG SC & CT were). It still blows my mind that Ubisoft had hired a completely different team to make the 360/PS3/PC versions of DA, and its an entirely _different_ game than the original Xbox/PS2/GC version.

Damn, I forgot how absent the light/dark mechanics were in DA v1. I'm an hour and a half into this thing and dude hasn't turned on his night vision once

It's a fun game but the worst thing about it is that most missions are set during the daytime or in areas where there are high amounts of lights. The game forces you to take alternative routes or hide behind cover while timing the enemies' movements. The first three games you were more dependent on NVG and just shooting all the lights, which I can say is easier. SCDA is harder that way, you need to time your movements, leave out some enemies and know your surroundings (map knowledge), this is basically what has been done in this video.

The xbox360 version looks pretty much perfect, but it has the same graphics error, glitch like in pc/ps3 version. If you look at 1:17:10, the lights go off and the water drops at the same time. At 1:17:33, you can see the light bluish alone. we don't need to mention the awful performance of the ps3 version, and the pc version can't fix the lighting issue even after multiple tweaks. The game itself was a just big glitch.

I preferr the original xbox version over this. This gives less freedom unlike the version 2, not to mention the story was explained in a very disconnected way. The missions are shorter too in this version and the HQ missions are boring as hell considering you're forced to walk normally in areas, and pray that the bugged AI doesn't discover you and rely on that tiny arduino programmed led on the shoulder. Also the nightvision filters give me headaches in this version, it's too blurry, chaos theory/v2 goggles were perfect. THey don't even explain how they captured lambert, unlike version 2, and as lambert would say: *what in god's name do you think you're doing ubisoft, the game is over!*

The problem is I keep getting that detection sound so many times it's bloody ridiculous. I look at the map and im getting red dots from across the map like half a dozen times. But that guys spot, I've gotten past it without being detected at least half a dozen times cos I'm watching the dot and I'm watching him to see if he continues to do his route or if he's searching for me, but he's doing his usual route... I dunno why but I got a feeling its not him that's identified me, I think its the guy at the Zipline, cos when I watch yours or anyone else's videos he doesn't even sense you, he senses me everytime I jump off the zipline, which I can't change the out come of that can I? Like do I continue the game to get soft treading boots or something? Cos this mission is such bullshit. Also, do I REALLY need to 100% THIS Iceland mission if I'm just going for Achievments?

Also, is it better to Load Checkpoint over loading a Save? cos I saved multiple times, one where I'm at the side of him waiting for him to walk right so I can go up the ladder. But I did save when I was on the ladder but it seemed he sensed me ALWAYS when I climbed up. So does Saving cause problems?

Man I didn't realize before when playing how dumb the AI is in this game even on the hard setting...like Cozumel for example when he's about to enter the steam room he bursts out asking for more steam when the guard is 2 feet from him and nothing....ubisoft went downhill with this thank God they followed up with some decent games in Conviction and Blacklist...this was probably My least favorite SC and I played them all religiously when I was a young man good times
