Tom Jones has been called "the British Elvis." Elvis and him were actually very good friends. Elvis really loved his song "Green, Green grass of Home" and later recorded it himself.

There is no denying that deep full- throated baritone type voice of Tom Jones. Like Elvis, his influences also root back to those early gospel, rhythm and blues type songs. No wonder they became friends and had a great deal of respect for each other’s music and talent. Tom once stated, that when Elvis asked him, “how do you sing like that?”.. Tom answered , ‘you are partially to blame’.... TCB Frankie’Elvis

As others have mentioned, Tom Jones and Elvis became good buddies in the 70s. The two of them would usually try to work it out so that they could be in Vegas at the same time, performing at two different casino hotels. Tom has told the story of how they would schedule their shows at different hours, and each one would often sneak over to watch the other one perform. If you went to see an Elvis show, Tom was probably with just offstage, or sitting in the audience incognito, and vice versa for a Tom show.

In 1974, I was a kid and my mom was President of one of the Tom Jones Fan Club called Tom's Soul Mates. She often saw him in concert she and her club went backstage after shows for photos and sometimes even on stage during the show. I sometimes went. We got to decorate his dressing room, and occasionally auction things he gave to us for charity. I met him several times and he was always sweet and called everyone "Luv". I have so many photos and her many of her newsletters, I could probably write a book! My mom ran that club from around 1971 to 1982 I think. Some good times growing up. My dad was a great sport about the whole thing.

Love your Picture Montage of all the GREATS! Otis Redding, my goodness his performance of Loving You @ the Monterey Music Festival in 67. Mind blowing!!! The world lost 1 of the greatest Soulful voices ever. Tom Jones, in a interview talks about meeting Mr. Redding. He stated Otis advised him too sing from the heart. Audiences connect with singing from life's experiences. I'd say that's one of Toms many qualities making him a great artist. God Bless Continued Success! I will share your channel with each of my 440 subscribers. They too will enjoy your videos... Ric Cruz Waterbury, CT

Hey guys I’m loving your passion for the music and the fact that you respect the artist by not talking all over it. In 1974 I was twenty five, living in Scotland as I still do, and enjoying UK bands from the sixties such as the Beatles, the Stones, Pink Floyd and many others as well as US bands like The Byrds and The Eagles. Other great Tom Jones songs are, of course, I’ll Never Fall in Love Again and My Elusive Dreams which has a real US theme. Could I suggest you react at some point to Gary Moore’s Parisienne Walkways Live Montreux in 2010 RIP. Gary was a guitar genius and this is the last and best live version of this song recorded. Tragically he died several months later from a heart attack whilst on holiday in Spain. I know the word ‘classic’ can be overused but, I assure you, not in this case. Regards from Edinburgh in Scotland.

Tom Jones was awesome. I heard y'all listen to a song by Elvis Presley, where he sing the song inreference to MLK. And some of y'all statements are that if is relvalent to today. There are a few songs that I think that y'all would really like to react to. Two of the songs are from the Tempations "1990 Album". One of them is called "1990" and the other one is "Ain't No Justice" and the other one is by Marvin Gaye called "Inner City Blues". They are awesome, the Inner City Blues is definitely a tear breaker.

I'm Just A Love Machine, Its Not Unusual, and What's New Pussycat were some great songs as well. Delilah is also pretty good. Tom Jones was notorious for making women swoon, and his dance moves were very proactive, but the more he gyrated, the more women wanted him. There is so many great songs, great artists from then to now, and I want ya'll to listen to all of it. It's hard to pick from. I love Johnny Rivers(most all songs), and he was way underrated as an artist. Tommy Roe, Tommy James and the Shondells, Dion. Ok, there's so many I like, so I'll stop for now, but keep plugging on this music journey(Journey the group is great, along with Steve Perry who was the lead singer of Journey).

Since you both seem to enjoy all time great singers, how about reacting to the greatest singer/performer in the world today? He's 6'3" 26 years old from Kazakhstan, his name is Dimash Kudaibergen. He can sing Any style of music from Opera to Rap in 12 different languages. In 2017 he entered a Chinese talent show called "I am a Singer" his opening song was called S.O.S. The following morning his life changed, he woke to find he'd had 600 Million hits on Weibo the Chinese Instagram. Today he is a Megastar in China, Kazakhstan and Russia with millions of fans around the world. Last December he sold-out his first Solo concert in the USA at the Barclays Center in New York 19,000. Because he can (and does) sing Any style of music, every performance he gives is completely different. With the widest vocal range of 7 octaves in the world, I can assure you you've NEVER seen anyone like him. 😊🏴👍
