I caught this tour at the Omni in Atlanta, Georgia and I sat to the left facing the stage with a date and I saw the drummer and did not recognize him Mike Campbell look different from the days of Fast Times At Ridgemont High days he look more grown up and the music was great and Tom Petty was very inviting that night with his high , intense beautiful rock-roll energy. They did play all they’re songs I remember leaving thinking to my self that was fantastic they were just what I thought they would be, they did not disappoint. And they have so many great songs that they’re are songs the theirs that I don’t listen to that used to be my favorite and I would play them all the time but now I have found so many others. Tom Petty🧚🏻‍♂️ really is s Legend and I believe he has surpassed his own hero s. You could also say that about most of their band members . For me they are history making musicians .♥️✌️....🌻

The late 80's early 90's looks like a great time for him. Full moon fever came out, he played with the Wilburys and he wrote WIldflowers, which he rate as one of his best album.

They gave us a free show at the Rosemont Horizon back around Damn the Torpedoes, and he fought the record company when it wanted to raise the album prices. What a class act. Forever gained my admiration and respect.

I've been working around the house tonight just listening to the music and listening to the audience response. Were they dead? I have never heard such a lackluster response to any artist that I've been able to go see. Perhaps I'm missing something here. I know this was early in their career but it just seems like I'm not hearing any enthusiasm. Maybe that's why he's smiling. I don't know. You never know about audiences. Sometimes they're on fire. And sometimes they should be fired. I offer everyone peace and blessings this march 13, 2022. Good old daylight savings time has started. Crap.
@ImJoeTheCeo
@ImJoeTheCeo 2 жыл бұрын
no, its because the soundboard isnt picking up the audiences noises very good. you can see them very active. and this is not early in their career. its been 19 years by the time this concert took place
@gailremp8389
@gailremp8389 2 жыл бұрын
@@ImJoeTheCeo true... please bear with my rambling/weird comment but TP can do that to ya some nights. And I think tonight is one of those nights. I realized that this was further on in their career because at that time I didn't know when he had first started. I mean we're talking dumb broad here. OK? But I have a confession to you about Tom Petty. When I got married in 1970 we were listening to The Doors, and all that kind of stuff. And I was not familiar with a great deal of "Popular music' then. I was listening to more adult alternative music. My husband was stationed in CT in the Navy on the Nautilus submarine. POS...Was a weird time. I was working in a law firm, a recession and a baby in 1974 brought us back to qOrlando, FL but zip knowledge about Mudcrutch. Too far north of Orlando. I'm a Sarasota, FL chickie...so I was an absolute neophyte when it came to the HBs and Tom. I've never been a television person so I didn't watch MTV later on. Never saw one official video of any song. So that has been a new experience watching them now... now I sit here in front of an iPad to get good news and bad news and music. Still don't have a TV. In about 2019 or so I heard Refugee the first time. I know "gasp!!". Shoot me now. And like everyone else finally finding his music you realize his music is your life experience also. And the lyrics just are so simplistically involved that you can't help falling deeper and deeper into the whole experience...and you thank god for YT being created and those people that recorded concerts with their phones for example. And it's now posted on YT. iI just loved the Bonnaroo concert. And of course I watched him in Philadelphia in 2014 in that concert. There's no crowd like a Philly crowd. So...with All this rambling around and information that I know you don't have any GD desire to know anything about, I thank you for not yelling at me and my dumbness and not knowing dating and what was going on. But I am a full blown in your face TP fan. This has been, shall we say, my saving grace. I think if I had heard refugee earlier and so many of the other songs that were epitomizing my life experiences while in Philly, I would've left a snake I married and gotten out of Dodge years earlier. But now is now and I am really appreciating all of the music. Truly. Please take care. be safe.we need you .... Gail in Central Florida, Tuesday June 7, 2022
