..and on the "Playback" boxed set. Didn't quite fit in with the "Full Moon Fever" album (horns), but a cool, funky tune. Thanks for the upload!

Oh man that box set is amazing, since u said u loved me and cry to me.

They mostly didn't release outside the box because it is obviously a take on another really famous song.

@@soysaucefool Actually this was released as a B-side from two different Full Moon Fever singles before it was in the boxed set. So anyone wanting to sue because it was a "similar song" (if that's the case) has had their chance.

Fun tune. Of all the posthumous remasters and releases since his death, this one and Trailer has not yet made the cut for some reasons.

With this happening so close to Traveling Wilburys, and Tom tied so closely with Mike Campbell, how did Campbell not end up with his fingers in the Wilburys' pie? Maybe it's just been too long since I've read all the liner notes? Anybody have any answers for me? Love & appreciation, g

The Traveling Wilburys story, in compressed form, is that George Harrison wanted a B-side for a single off "Cloud Nine". Jeff Lynne was GH's producer, so he was already on board. They got Roy Orbison for his soaring vocals, and I think Lynne was producing for Orbison at the time. It was supposed to just be those 3 making the B-side. But they needed a place to record, and Bob Dylan had a studio, so they asked him to be part of it. Then GH had left a guitar at Petty's house, he retrieved it and asked Tom to join. I suppose at this point they had so many guitarists and song composers, asking Campbell in might have been "too many cooks" in their mind. The B-side turned out to be "Handle With Care", and they decided to turn it into an entire album, not just one song. Mike Campbell continued to be connected to all the others though, in addition of course to being with Tom Petty, and with Jeff Lynne when he produced albums for Tom and the band. In fact Campbell named Lynne as his favorite producer, just a few years ago. Campbell played live guitar for Dylan in the 1980's when Dylan toured with the Heartbreakers. Campbell played on Orbison's album "Mystery Girl" and co- produced some of the tracks. And Campbell played guitar for George Harrison's band when he did a live concert in 1991 (Natural Law Party benefit). So it's not as if Mike Campbell wasn't connected to all of the individual Wilburys, he just wasn't on their albums. I'm guessing if they'd actually traveled and done some live shows, they'd have asked Mike to fill out the sound in concert.

I think what it really came down too was tom just needed some space from all of the Heartbreakers, this has mystified me for quite sometime too. And although mike was involved in alot of the full moon fever album I think he had some personal stuff going on too. I know there were times they said mike would literally just leave the studio for a week at a time and it was probably stress related. You have to remember these guys were alot more high strung in thier mid 30's than what we remember them being in thier 60's. Also strangly enough it seems like outside of thier music career of touring and recording mike and tom didn't hang out a ton during thier free time. I was always surprised scott Thurston was Tom's best man when he married Dana

@@melissagerber7231 Mary's New Car is from Southern Accents. Though it does seem like it could have fit the driving/traveling theme of Highway Companion.
