Good ear! I heard the premier of this on Tom Petty Radio. One of the producers of the new album stated this version was the first time he played it and made it up as he went. At one point during the version, you can hear him stray into chord s for Hard to Find A Friend because he had recently wrote that song and it was fresh in his mind. What is heard on this video was referred to as “the birth” of the song Wildflowers.

My Dad Played Drums & Vinyl constantly. Most of His Heroes were African American. And He and I are #White. But its The Soul that matters most as a Colour. The colour of Egalitarian Harmony & celebration of What you bring to the Table. Music Transcends our Human Conditions that get Applied to us. Race. Religion, Status. That's the Universal Magic that Weaves a Fabric borne from Love&.Beauty™️ Jazz is not MY POETRY but my dad's Muse created a Portal for me called Tolerance & Open Mindedness. Now I listen to Finnish Music. Israeli music, Basque Music, Estonian music, French Music, silly Pop songs & Arvo Pärt, A NY MUSIC that transports my soul into another dimension. God is Good. Tom, you're somewhere out there hopefully in heaven at peace:) This song is my mom's favorite and she's really struggling right now in the midst of her mental illness. I wanted to make a cover of this song for her and you made that happen. I love this video because It makes me feel what I wish for her. Somewhere she can be free. Free from the demons in her head, her abuse, her issues of being financially unstable, unable to hold down a job, my other sister wants nothing to do with her and I can't be around her when she's this bad or I'll absorb all of her negative emotions. Being an empath is hard. Negative energies are all around us. Your song is such a positive energy and I just love connecting with it:) Thank you for this gift amongst the chaos
