12:15 No fictional character has ever inspired me more than Tom Welling's Clark. Not to overdramatize or romanticize this, but ever since I first watched the show in full in 2016-ish, I've felt empowered by the idea of trying be like Clark - if I can have as much as 0.0001% of his heroicism and virtuousness. He inspires me to be better and try to do good, which mainly manifests in how I carry myself and how I try to treat other people. That never happened to me with other portrayals of Superman; I never felt I wanted to *be* like the 90s animated Superman, the Christopher Reeve one, or the Man of Steel one. Smallville's Clark is the only one who did that for me - and that's largely on Tom. So it's not just "pretending" to help people - his character genuinely affected me, even if it's just in a small way.

TOM WELLING is the PERFECT guest to celebrate the landmark 300th Episode, and the BIGGEST CONGRATULATIONS to Michael, Ryan, Bryce, Jason & the entire team on the accomplishment of 300+ Episodes of Inside Of You With Michael Rosenbaum! Glad to have been a part of this journey since the very beginning, and I always appreciate each and every insight shared from all the different aspects of Tom's personal, private, & professional life! I regret to hear about the "Health Scares", and I continuously wish Tom lots of good health with the hope that everything only gets better. A FOREVER THANK YOU from me for SMALLVILLE & TALK VILLE, and I am excited for Tom's two movies to be released, the new "Sheriff role", and future projects too! I love you so much Tom and thank you for opening up to us little by little, thanks also to Michael who encourages you to do it because it is important to talk even just a little about what scares or torments us, opening up even just a little can help a lot. It doesn't surprise me that Tom wanted to be a firefighter because firefighters are heroes who risk their lives every day to help others and Tom is exactly this, a hero. You help and inspire so many people every day with your Clark, including me more that I can say. You are a hero on and off screen, Tom, and the wonderful man you are in your real life makes you even more of a hero. Thank you for being as special and unique as you are and please just have more self-esteem of yourself and never let anyone bring you down.❤️❤️❤️

So great that Tom and Michael have such a great relationship long after Smallville ended. Smallville personally helped me when I lost my wife in August, 2021. Covid was still wide open then and I was desperately looking for something to watch to help with my grief and also the isolation from Covid. Smallville was just incredible in helping me to come back to being a whole person again. Always have been a big comic fan but didn't have time for much TV in early 2000s. I was aware of Smallville and it's unique take on Superman but nothing prepared for the great writing and character development. I instantly fell in love with the Lois and Clark dynamic. Loved seeing actors that I was already a fan of in Annette O'toole and John Schneider. Just was blown away by Erica Durance's version of Lois. Just a great experience to watch it and I could literally feel myself healing. I owe you guys a lot. Thank you for helping through a very difficult time in my life. Bless you both.

29:26 - the power of your kids. I was told my son would have difficulty with empathy with his ASD diagnosis. He has had that for awhile. 2 days ago, he says something that I'd never heard from him showing VERY clearly that he understands a person in a video's emotions and they they are sad by that outcome. For the next hour I could not think of anything else but that. So I talked to him and he said, "I know when people are sad". In 1 phrase, he made me feel like he had just climbed a mountain and I wanted to be the guy at base camp cheering him on as it was his accomplisment, not "ours" or not some therapist I want to call up and tell them about it. No, it was uniquely his accomplishment. So Tom's point here hit me so hard with the "magic of kids".

The impression I've gotten regarding Brendon Fraser, is that he comes off as a very sincere person... Sincerity is something that is far rarer than we all wish it was. We all have masks, perspectives, views, and goals that we let on about... I've never met Fraser, but from what I have seen, I get the impression that he just is who he is, and it's genuinely refreshing in a world of dual-identities.

When it comes to a Smallville movie... First let me say that I really enjoyed it. As we are close in age, in many ways I grew up with you during the series. But when it comes to further jobs based on it, I think Smallville did a good enough job in wrapping itself up, I'd be hesitant to try to add to it now. It was really cool seeing you during that cross-event in the DC series, and was a welcome surprise. It showed where things went and how your life had played out. In the series you always struggled trying to balance your responsibilities to other due to having the power to make a difference, and your responsibilities to yourself and your loved ones. As was mentioned earlier in this podcast, where you have to help yourself so that you are able to help others, it was actually nice to know that there's a time you could hang up the cape and actually enjoy just being human. Seeing your kids grow, and live the kind of life you fought to help provide for others. I'm not sure where they could take it at this point that wouldn't sour that revelation... I have enjoyed watching you in 0ther shows too, such as Lucifer and the Professionals series (still wish that one would have lasted), but I am glad they didn't try to milk the Smallville series to the point of spoiling it's charm like has happened to so many other IPs...

As well as John and Annette. Funny enough I'm hearing you and Tom right now talk about how people come up to you to tell you how the show helped them through 9/11 and how some people like me who watched with their Dad. It’s always it treat when you get Tom on the podcast, you both have a true friendship and those are very rare ♥️ Tom is right Michael that you do a lot for others and you have made a difference in the lives of others. Those little things what counts and the time you spend with those children watching a movie or just hangout with them at the Ronald McDonald house. They will always remember those small moments that makes a difference in those children lives. All the organizations from food on foot and animals rescue your hero in so many ways Michael. I sometimes feel the same way thinking you can always do more. You do have to take care of yourself, I just started seeing a therapist. I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown which I did right in front of my therapist. Sometimes life has a way of creeping up on you and I’ll be 60 this year. I have been through so much in my life and I thought I was ok, I have always helped others and put people before myself. I always love keeping busy keeps my mind off of things and I never worry. But sometimes you past has a way off creep up on you. I tried block out so much of the trauma in my life, it’s weird just by watching a TV show can hit you hard with some memories of what you’ve been through. I am so glad I started seeing a therapist. It’s been quite a long time, since I had to see one, I deal with depression and anxiety and PTSD. It’s important to take care of yourself and sometimes you need someone to talk to, and not keep things bottled up. I have been hooked since 2017 on your podcast and will continue, this podcast is one of the best. Michael you Rock!!

Congrats for 300!!! REQUEST: Get some of the actors from The Magicians. I'm sure the show has a crossover fandom with your fans and I have not seen any of them guest on a pod.

I still feel like this is that new show Rosenbaum has. He's so damn good at this, and this show is so valuable. Glad to be here for it.
