😂😂 I loved that Lois called Clark "Smallville" because it started out as a "dig" -- referring to his simple, farm-boy, small-town ways and upbringing but it then grew into a term of endearment. Additionally, the scene where Lois first sees Clark nekkid in the field -- and is introduced to "Clark Jr", her impression was most definitely not "Small-Ville". Respectfully. 😳🤔😂💛💙❤️💋💯

Lois called Clark "Smallville" in the comics for decades
@WSK90029 ай бұрын
It actually began on "Superman: The Animated Series."
@jasonmullinder9 ай бұрын
@@WSK9002 He revealed his Secret Identity to Lois in 1991 and she was calling him Smallville before that. Somewhere between the Man of Steel miniseries reboot and then. Superman The Animated Series began in 1996

No Mike. (Lois) being from Metropolis used Smallville as a polite way of referring to Clark as a country boy. This was rather clever if you think about it because her calling him Smallville is so Lois. Good job Erica and whoever else came up with that.
@jasonmullinder9 ай бұрын
It's actually pulled from the comics

Lois called Clark Smallville as what would later become a term of endearment. It started out as a form of flirtation because she thought that he was good looking. You know a Lois thing. Some times people give other people nicknames especially between friends.

Micheal is so funny. Tom's reaction "what"😂 We know that's not the meaning, but it's funny that's where Micheal's mind went. Also, Tom saying we have to ask Erica 😂

Lois calling Clark Smallville as a dig to his small-town upbringing had been a thing since before the series "Smallville"... although I believe it was "Smallville" that used that nearly predominately, even more than the animated series.
@44excalibur9 ай бұрын
Lois Lane had been calling Clark by the name "Smallville" since Superman: The Animated Series in the 1990s. I don't remember if Teri Hatcher ever used that term on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

I clearly remember this from an independent rewatch about a week ago. For a couple episodes her endearing name of choice is "farm boy." In the bathroom scene, she doesn't see him naked again, they just talk and she REFERS to having seen him naked. It's another episode or two later, outside the high school, I think--nowhere near context (even for a prank assertion) that she first calls him Smallville. They made a bigger deal what to call the superpowered dog (whose episode title is KRYPTO but Shelby (gastly!) They might as well have called her Shannon...doesn't she "drift out to sea" like the depressing song from the 70s? (She's not in the next few episodes.)

I watched this and had the same reaction: "Whaat?" LOL Smallville was Lois' nickname for Clark, Clark Jr. was Lois' nickname for Clark's Kryptonian super weiner (I deduced that from Lois' reaction to naked Clark in the cornfield.) 😏👀😅
