It's a mad crazy busy week here on the pocket farm!
In the garden, I'm very busy getting all the plants in the ground and particularly setting up my 'Italy' beds for tomatoes. I need to clear the old brassicas that have gone to flower and have been feeding the bees for weeks, put down a layer of compost from my chicken coop, build a support structure for my espalier pear trees and erect the 'marquee'. After THAT, I can finally plant out my tomatoes, leeks, peppers, broccoli, lettuce and sow my carrots. I am also sowing sweet peas and Paris Pickles in toilet rolls, and clearing the bed closest to Park Square in preparation for a big delivery on Friday!
My Christmas present is delivered on Wednesday ... it's big and possibly won't go through the gate!! Spoiler alert, it's a PIANO! I have always wanted to learn and I decided that 'now is good' :-) The Husband is learning the flute - a lot smaller and easier to get through the gate.
As I'm uploading this video my 'posh shed' is being constructed on the old carport and it's very exciting and also nerve racking hearing all the banging and nail gun firing. It will be pressed into service as extra accomodation for the holidays and for the wedding, and after that will be used for workshops, storage and a multitude of other things - a shed, especially a posh shed, has many uses :-)
I should also warn you that I use the word 'exciting' a lot during this video but, what can I say, IT IS!
