Tomb Raider Remastered is here. Almost 30 years ago a young adventurer from Derby, England set the gaming world alight. Lara Croft was a pioneer in many ways and Core Design were paving the way for her adventures and future 3D worlds. Tomb Raider 1, Tomb Raider 2, and Tomb Raider 3 are in this trilogy with full remasters that add new graphics, 120fps and more. But how does it look in comparison to the Tomb Raider RTX Remix version. Or the Tomb Raider Sega Saturn version? Let's dive in and find out.

@@gamemaster2192 This is the original Tomb Raider. How the series started. This is completely different from the survivor era and just a little similar to the LAU era. What you see here is real Tomb Raider. If you aren't a TR fan, you wouldn't understand anyway.

@@gamemaster2192 They only play like Legend if you use modern controls, other than that and visual changes they are the original games. Use tank controls and you are playing the exact same game as the originals. They are not easier or harder than the original, they are the same.

To say it's similar to the GTA Definitive Trilogy is disrespectful to the developers who made this remaster because it's not the same at all. And to say that the textures were put through some kind of AI thing is also so wrong in so many ways. They were clearly completely re-drawn and remade from scratch to resemble the original pixel textures.

Love how you snuck in Thunderfoce IV. Played it to death back then. :-) The Tomb Raider Remake looks interesting and might be worth a spin. Agree that a hybrid of the RTX version with the enhancements of the Remake would probably be the perfect version.

Interesting and well made comparison. Although it is maybe worth adding that shortly after the original game's release the 3DFX Voodoo came out and support for it was added, making the game look a lot better.

Great remaster. Sure there are some graphical glitches that can be patched and some wonky Achievements that can be fixed, but it's still a great rendition. Especially since it includes all the DLC's, that are hard to find and get (especially legally). Especially The Lost Artifact, had the change to play it for the first time ever.

the level is called "the lost valley" and is a reference to "the lost world" a novel where a small place of the world was never hit by meteors. so a large population of dinosaurs (and other prehistoric creatures) survived.
