Some eye watering bikes there. Thanks for the look around and the insight. I love Simon's honest view of how tiring it is (explaining the build to everyone and how he normally just drops the bike off and leaves - can't blame him).

I have time for everyone that shows a genuine interest in a build, I will always answer questions and chat because when I was younger (long time ago) all I ever did was ask questions and my thirst for knowledge was emense. I had the upmost respect for those that shared their time with me. Therefore I owe that.

Class edit to condense it all into a manageable chunk for us. I wish there was a quiet day with no tunes so you could have got the sound side captured. The chat would have been really interesting between you and Simon and the builders. For me, I'd have been all over and under the slabshot... that bike hits me right in the feels and thinky bits. That one wins it for me. Simon did great, I'd need heavily medicated to cope with a whole day of overstimulation like that 😂. The carbon Yam was also a brain melter of a build material tech wise a winner too. 👌🤓😍
@MINTCUSTOM5 Жыл бұрын
I was all over that Gixer, K9 1000 with slabby kit on it. Not particularly difficult to achieve but very difficult to make look right which was achieved. The carbon Yam was very special but I my mind too "angular" the effort that went into design must have been huge but I would have gone more streamlined. Me and you could have had sooo much to discuss on that day😊😊😊
@tonykeast9966 Жыл бұрын
@@MINTCUSTOM5 I'm with you big time. Canny observations on both those bikes I agree with. I hope a deep dive gets done on both those bikes as I really want a closer look to see if the quality goes beyond just design. Glad you got to have a feel and a poke and to have Di there to soak up the observations and learn - that was brilliant for her, seriously. Apex will be all the more awesome now having seen that K9 special make such an impact. To me the strong bold blend of function AND form. If we get more of that in shows like the bikeshed - that would make me happier. Politely I'll hold back on a touchy debate here about some frustrations/annoyances about some of cafe racer/custom bike show life right now in recent years. The main positive is that there are undeniably some skilled and talented creators in this new wave of trendy bike life culture thing. It's gonna inspire the next generation again and keep the market going. Knob level aside, if they outlast the trend then that'll keep the numbers up. And beard and brylcreem product shares strong. 😁😂 👊💥

Evening Tomboy_a_bit. Girl you had that beam in your eyes and on your face in this one! Thanks for sharing this one, and it was interesting hearing Simon's thoughts on cabon fibre and 3D printing. That's a whole new level for bike builders to play with. That said I'm still old school and stuck in the past I guess? Lots of nickel or chrome and fancy spray jobs. Often a work of art in their own right irrespective of the quality of build I often thought in that cruising style. That said and looking at many of them builds, you just can't take anything away from them builders. Nice one chaps 👌. So until next time Tomboy, safe enjoyable cruising girl 👍😊.
