There is a place in Kynton Vic. that offers an aluminum frame for the rear door flyscreen on this Tommy Camper, which puts the flyscreen back a bit from the current position and uses the screen you already have. I think it is called House of Hoon....Look it up
@SlideOnCampingAustralia2 жыл бұрын
Yep, already have. Looks great.
@davidmoore73033 жыл бұрын
Looks good. With the rear door you may be able to mount the gas strut on the outside, so the fly screen will work ok.
@SlideOnCampingAustralia3 жыл бұрын
Maybe. Thinking I may have a solution for its current position.

Lift up door gives some weather protection. I'm interested to see that awning.

Agree. There will be a setup and first impressions video regarding the awning in the next few weeks.

A great morning to you sir & the better half. Been watching a few of your videos cruising the outback & I find it very interesting & educational. So I thought it would be wise to subscribe to your channel, for further education & entertainment plus I get to see places that I've never been. Yet.! I will be turning 65 and one guess what I will be doing!? I did some travelling when I was young and this time around it will be like reminiscing. Now my 2 cent worth: As for the light in the bed area, may I suggest you get those small portable battery operated lights, ones that you can either stick it where you need them ( adhesive or magnets) atleast if it's not permanently fixed you have a choice to where you require them to be. Most of them have multiple coloured light bulbs, if not some colourful cellophane will do the trick, that "no bugs" coming in.! As for that screen door, it's a great idea to cut a slit so it can go around the hydraulic poles (great mind thinks alike). I would suggest you use magnets so the two cut ends sticks together giving a tight fit, the bugs would have to have a turbo charged wings to get through the screen. Those hydraulic poles can be adjusted if it's in the way of the awnings. I think it's awesome what you have done to improve the Tommy. I am very sure all manufacturers are watching your channel, under a different subscriber name...of course! Anyway sir, you've got yourself a new sub & fans. We will be following you & your adventures. Have a brilliant & adventurous journey & safe travel. Thank you for sharing. Sincere greetings from Christmas Island.

Hi Wayne, what are the dimensions of the foyer. Is it big enough for 2 people to sit and eat a meal please? Great video, thank you.
@SlideOnCampingAustralia Жыл бұрын
The S4 isn’t. It’s good for one at a time. The s6 and s8 are easily big enough

Hi Wayne, what is the actual standing space from the end of the bed to the back of the canopy? About 1200mm?
@matthalpin19812 жыл бұрын
The back door strut would probably be better placed outside the door. Then it would not interfere with the fly screen. My rooftop tent has its struts on the outside and it works a treat. I much prefer it to my previous RTT which had the struts on the inside.

Interesting, I note one of your answers re weight was 3400 kg, is that fully loaded with full tanks etc. I’ve been quoted on an upgrade of gvm to 3670 , doesn’t leave much leeway, is that enough ?? Also are they still in business, I’ve been unable to contact them.

Hey Wayne! How are you mate? I was just wondering if I could come take a look at your S4x? I'm in North Brisbane. Seriously thinking about getting one but unfortunately Tommy campers are in Victoria now. I thought they were in Hervey bay. I would really appreciate if we can get chatting! Been following you for ages. Love your unbiased content! Regards Chris

Hi, how do they work with the Mahindra double cab 4x4 pickups?
@SlideOnCampingAustralia2 жыл бұрын
The Mahindra has a GVM of 3150, not to sure what empty on road weight is? If it’s around the 2200 like some of the others you’ll be fine. That said it’s only a 2.2 ltr so power may be an issue.

Badly designed rubbis and I'm sure it costs as much as the ute. I've never seen anyone get ripped off as much as Australian consumers
@SlideOnCampingAustralia2 жыл бұрын
Not sure what Rubbis is. Sorry FL.
@Here_is_Waldo2 жыл бұрын
@@SlideOnCampingAustralia I think the word he means is 'Rubbish'. While I disagree that it's rubbish, it is a bit too expensive for me and I'll stick with the homemade version. It's a catch-22, I suppose. The company doesn't sell enough to drop the price and still make, but lots of people can't afford the price so the customer base won't expand.
