Maybe not; but George Benson, for the type of music he does, comes in on that short list. Hail TOMMY!

One thing you can say about Tommy is that he is generous. He shares techniques that would take a person a lifetime to develope in a quick, practical tutorial. This is a great teacher who is willing to share. Thanks Tommy! God speaks to man through art. ~

I saw this guy live performing in Germany in 2007. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Over 2 hours music like not from this planet+his smile+ cracking jokes+beautiful sound and an incredible country music singer from Canada(she performed a few songs with Tommy). He delivers the whole packet. Guys, learn something from him so that my grandchildren will still have a chance to listen to the real music. Not just 3 chords and lots of delay effect:( Oh, I am a drummer not a guitarist;)

I'm 18 years old and a fellow guitar player. I saw this guy play the other day and it was the most incredible thing I have ever seen. If you have a chance to see this guy play, do it. All though he makes you just want to give up on playing, because he is so good lol

He's really not holding anything back. He truly wants to "change the world" in part, by giving everything to all of us guitar nerds. for example the 'Chet gift' turnaround at 2:47. It's all there if you can stir it into ur own creativity, interpretation and expression. Thanks Tommy for so many gifts. Good players only need but 'grock' you.
@tacratt60914 жыл бұрын
God chooses to give some a special gift, one that’s hard for them to explain. He can show a million people how he does it, maybe a couple will get it, the music comes from his soul, like all the greats!

Love this!!!! I want to be able to use my thumb as Tommy does, but my thumb doesn't always fret the note right. Frustrating.
@coryCuc3 жыл бұрын
I watched a video where he compared his two thumbs, and the thumb on his left hand is literally 50% bigger and shaped completely different than his other thumb just from using his thumb over the neck like that. I wish I could find the video again, but no joke it was the funniest thing I've seen. Freak of nature he is lol.
