Tommy Sheridan is spot on. Also, why don't the BBC mention the energy agreement between Westminster and Iceland in 2012. You know, the same agreement that could become worthless if Scotland gets independence. Please see link: www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-and-iceland-sign-energy-agreement The same agreement that an independent Scotland could profit from in the long-term. Why? Because Iceland has the potential to provide the whole of the UK, with renewable energy. Also, this could enable wind farms to continue to produce energy, instead of having to be turned off when they have produced too much. You know, if the plans for an European energy grid is finished could enable Scotland to sell energy to member states. Energy is big business, and only a fool would vote NO against such potential, along with what Tommy Sheridan stated!

Something needs to be remembered here. A lot of people are calling this a possible divorce and the break up after 300 years. This was no mutual union. The Scottish people had no say and when they tried they were massacred by the English and traditional ways were outlawed. All one has to do is to remember Culloden. After that the Scots, now a conquered people fell into line and they didnt even have a Scottish Parliament until 270 years later. It's easy to say that it happened hundreds of years ago and things are different now, but even considering that you must consider this. Canada, Australia and other British conquests and colonies have gone on to independence and the world has not ended. So... Why not Scotland as well. Why shouldnt Scotland be able to go it's own way in the world and determine its own future. Scotland doesnt need England to hold it's hand. All this "Fear Mongering" is just that. A lot of BS. The time is now for Scotland the Brave to stand tall and choose to govern themselves!!!

Its a bad example to compare Scotland to any British empire colonial conquest. There was always a good deal of people in Scotland and England who favoured the idea of a union. The idea itself had been around along time, as the Scottish king had went on to inherit the English throne as-well. Thus with both nations sharing the same king, the idea of a union would become a popular idea that floated around until 1707. And any ways now, in 2015 the Scottish people have democratically voted to remain part of the UK. Which means i thankfully remain Scottish by birth and British by the grace of god.
