In fact Ma's most dangerous serves are - heavy back spin and no spin, both look very similar it's very hard for the opponent to judge the spin. If you've been notified what sort of spin you're going to receive, then to receive a serve would not be too difficult!

Greetings from India. I normally watch table tennis videos of emratthich and pingpangwang (I don't know, chinese language though). Yours is the first video, which was decent, aptly described and took care of small bits of the serve handling. Not many cover this aspect. Great work, keep uploading good videos. Subscribing your channel and would regularly visit for your new videos. Thanks.

I find that when I use my wrist to get more spin I get too much side spin. I'm not following through, and I'm holding the paddle flat, what else could I do to get rid of the side spin?
@christianwu13095 жыл бұрын
its with point of contact and when the ball hits your racket. its about timing
@NicoLBell6 жыл бұрын
your channel is great. then for backspin serve the point of contact is in the middle of the blade or in the edge? Thanks!

You are using red rubber on forehand side. Do you feel any difference between red and black regarding spin and speed ?
@Soper797 жыл бұрын
Nice video. Good tip on being sure to not follow through. People who serve with a lot of follow through makes it easy IMO to see what spin they had on it. Furthermore, with a short snappy contact, you get to your after fake motion sooner. Keep up the good work.

It's a useful serve as a pure backspin serve. However, in competitions, you don't need the ball to come back to the net so you can add a bit more force to it!

the movement of my hand on the ball contact should be smooth or rough? Its hard to me serve short and heavy because when I try increase the spin, usually the ball goes very long and bounces just once on the table.

Watch the Mizutani's video. Hope it could help you with that.
@Dawsong1206 жыл бұрын
Hello. I have a problem. I have been practicing this back spin for quite some time, but I can't seem to get enough spend to make the ball come back towards me. Even if I brush the ball on its bottom as hard as I can, it will just hit the table and continue forward, even if it has barely any forward momentum. I have a decent paddle with sponge in the middle and pretty good grip and plastic "Ping Pong The Original" balls. Is it my equipment, or anything I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Your videos are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much! I have two questions, one regarding ‘rotate your body while serving’, not sure how to actually do it; another one about ‘relax while preparing for loop’, I don’t understand what it means and how to change if I am not doing it now. Where are you in Canada? I am in Ohio, US, would really love to know how I can support your project. Yucheng
@tomorrowtabletennisnon-pro10017 жыл бұрын
Hi Thank you! I explained a bit more on the first question in the new Mizutani's video, check it out! "Relax before the loop" means you shouldn't tense up before you contact the ball, especially your arm and hand, so that you can use those muscles when you need to (ie acceleration of stroke at contact). I live in Markham rn. It's already great support that you're watching my videos. You can always share them with other people. And if you're interested in more actions, you can always email me. Thanks again!

Is it me, or whenever I try this, there is not that much backspin. I was wondering if it was my bat or something. There would be lots of topspin when I did a forehand loop, but when I did a backspin serve the ball does not have much spin.
