WALKING AND WILD CAMPING ON THE NORTH DOWNS WAY | PART 7: CUXTON TO DETLING | TARP AND BIVVY

Welcome back to the North Downs Way! The last section was completed in March before the lockdown, so I have a lot of ground to make up if I want to complete the route by the end of the year.
Myself and Luke from The Real Travelling Amigos met back up at Ranscombe Farm Nature Reserve car park where we left off and continued on into Kent across the River Medway to Detling, 12.5 miles.
It was a boiling hot day so we decided to wild camp at Bluebell Hill (only 5 miles into the section) seeing as I had camped in exactly the same spot with Candice, a while ago. That turned out to be a big mistake...
This section was jam packed with history, in particular the medway megaliths from the Neolithic era, thousands of years old! Lovely jubbly.

This section is me back yard....was great to watch u walk thru it. The uphill bit after the white horse stone, with all the twisted trees is magical. Had quite the impact on me when I first walked there many moons ago.

Hi Tom, you should’ve stopped for a pint at Robin Hood pub, they do a nice cider. Walked this section many a time. I live half a mile from Bluebell Hill in Rochester. Keep up the good work mate and looking forward to the next video 👍

Tom if your ever over kent, just off the pilgrims way near trottiscliffe ( trosley country park ) is the coldrum stones burial chamber. Well worth a look. Another great video. Have you thought of doing the pilgrims way. Did 30 years a with my mates in a weeks hike with an old framed rucksack and a plastic bivi bag to sleep in. Happy days.

Thanks Tom, great video. I love the atmospheric background music towards the end. That made this video my favourite of yours so far. It's also good to learn from your mistakes for my future planned walks (including the N. Downs Way). Btw, have you done any more of the South Downs Way? I enjoyed your first video of that walk. I also enjoy your beer/cider reviews and interesting meals. Where can I buy ration packs like the ones you have? Thanks and well done. I shall watch more of your videos.

Awesome, thank you! I'm planning to do the next SDW section this weekend with my other half. Been so busy with work and every time I've gone to do it with other people they've let me down last minute. When I was buying ration packs I got them from ebay, I also get all my dehydrated meals from there or decathlon.
