Cool..Trick i used to do is to tap out the nut and i have a little piece of packing i put under it to lift the strings a bit for slide. Now i have a couple guitars set up for slide. But this'd be handy as they don'tall have the same tone do they.....

Make sure the edge touching the head plate is rounded and has no irregularities, otherwise there is a risk of leaving a dent on the head plate

Never heard of this gadget before. I'd be concerned about possibly scratching the headstock, nut, or fretboard. Otherwise, how cool the tool!
