yes i remember reading that somewhere but it usually works all the way around, theres some sort of deadman cutoff too if you perform no action on the controller for a while the train stops, this was when it stopped.

Yes the new lineup shown on the wiki doesn't include this engine or Oliver, the 2012 onward ones are numbered TS-# as well instead of T-#. So I'm pretty sure that means these and possibly others are discontinued.
