"Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front - tactical battalion level combat simulation. It is a sequel to Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star and Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.
Game is comprised of two modes:
Operational - turn-based mode where you can shift and concentrate forces in the chosen directions, resupply and replace units, repair and refuel vehicles.
Tactical - real-time mode where you are conducting fire combat with the enemy, capturing territory, destroying vehicles and the enemy manpower.
Four large-scale operations for the Red Army and Wehrmacht with realistic organizational structure. The campaign features more than 100 detailed vehicles produced in USSR, Germany, US and UK. Over 140 sq. km of realistic landscapes were reconstructed from topographical maps and photo and video materials.
-New enhanced UI: streamlined interface of various panels, radial orders menu and other enhancements.
-Interface appearance and customization: three variants of appearance are included, customizable unit markers (Red Army, Wehrmacht, NATO).
-High replayability and advanced AI, which selects the best strategy based on behavior, not a predetermined script.
-Advanced management of forces in the operational phase: reinforcement strategies and management of reserves.
-Statistics keeping: performance of each unit is recorded (kills, losses, awards, etc.). After each battle, damages and condition of forces and vehicles are shown in the after battle statistics.
-Battlefield simulation: realistic vision devices, smoke screens and flares, creation of trenches, explosion craters. Remnants of previous battles remain on the battlefield until the end of operation.
-Realistic soldier behavior: each soldier has several essential parameters, such as experience level, stamina and morale, which influence their behavior and effectiveness.
-Detailed weapon modeling and realistic ballistics: bullets and projectiles follow ballistic trajectories, taking wind, temperature and other parameters into account.
-Advanced armor penetration: modeling based on ballistic histograms without simplifications of probabilistic methods, generation of secondary fragmentation fields takes into account many parameters, such as the change of the field shape in space, fragments and armor characteristics, armor thickness and damage conditions.
-Complex vehicle damage system: engine, suspension, sights, weapons and targeting mechanisms can be damaged separately, affecting the combat capabilities.
-Destructible environment: almost everything can be blown up and destroyed, from landscape surface and buildings to vehicles and enemy defensive installations.
-Advanced control of the off-map artillery, featuring various fuse settings and shell types.
-Formation and movement modes: lines and columns, movement by road and covertly, infantry following behind tanks, setting a delay, fire sectors, etc.
-Automatic smoke screen laying: units set up smoke screens when enemy is spotted.
-Dynamic change of the time of day, light sources and weather effects, influence the course of battle, visibility and area passability."

Big tip: that dashed line indicating an attack on the operational map means it's a mechanized attack, which can only be carried out by mechanized or armoured units.

That view at 45:00 is what makes this game worth it. For a second you really feel like you're seeing something only soldiers on the Eastern Front ever saw before this. Great job! Love this series.

Thank you very much for the support, I really do appreciate it. Graviteam games are such a unique experience but many of it´s workings are not intuitive. I´ll try to make more Graviteam Videos because I enjoy explaining how the sim works.

Yes, but that brings up a question for me. The MP 38 and MP40 had a 32 round magazine. The character in the game fired way more than 32 rounds. Does gravity team tactics have a pause and reload animation?

To get around “unit stack” where you can only move one BG at a time, switch to the direct control mode. This is a small cheat I allow myself to get out of this situation:)

Literally every aspect of this game is absolutely amazing, but one of the things that absolutely irks me is the uniforms they're wearing, particularly the Germans. The Battle of Kiev taking place in June-July 1941 had temperatures upwards of 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit and there's tons of footage of German soldiers with sleeves rolled, wearing service shirts only, or wearing HBT drillich tunics which were reed green (typically worn over the wool feldbluse but in hot weather worn on its own a lot). The German seen in these videos are all wearing overcoats- which DEFINITELY wouldn't be happening at this time- and the textures/colors are just off on the rest of the uniforms. Wish there was a way to fix that.

There is a nightpostman’s reskins mod. But it’s not been updated in a while, so you’d run a risk of isuues, which may be as serious as vehicles disappearing or game crashing

@@Tonci87 yeah but they're doing it in the day too lol. Also Mantels were issued by the quartermaster depots during seasonal timeframes (which the scenario date of September falls outside of). As a guy who's fought in the same uniforms and equipment as these guys (reenacting) during the same time of year and same terrain/ecosphere; they should def NOT be wearing Mantels hahaha just a slight immersion break for me, tbh

You got me into this game! I'm still terrible at it and have to play with the enemy visible just to have a chance haha. Any way you could make another battle tutorial covering more advanced things? I also don't know how to lose a battle well if that makes any sense. It's always either I win or am annihilated.

Also! I'm happy that last video you said your set up takes forever because I had felt bad that I take so long to do mine. I'd still love to understand how you do your setup because especially on defense I'm not always sure why some units get obliterated while others do just fine. Anti tank especially I try to get long fields of fire but they end up getting blown up instead of doing the exploding.

If you press escape you have a button to retreat your forces. I would advise you to have them already close to the edge of the map when you hit that though since the game will simulate your units fleeing off the field, being chased by the enemies

I believe the chapters are duplicate of the first part's and not reflecting what's happening in this video. Otherwise great gameplay and camerawork so far!

Apparently they are going in the order in which they have been moved. But I’m not sure about that

Could you explain how the captured equipment mechanic works in the game? Can they be fielded later in the campaign?

You get no choice in the matter. If the game determines you’ve captured enemy operational equipment, and your units lack similar equipment type, then the game will automatically assign captured equipment to your units.

The game will assign captured equipment to units that have been deprived of their own. Your units will be less effective with captured equipment
