I love this demo! I have never seen any of your demos before. I subscribed about half way through 'cause I want more. I, too, like the v1 over the v2. I think it sounds more musical/natural. The one thing I miss on almost every reverb pedal I've tried in the last ten years is "first reflection." I had a Yamaha Rev7 back in the 80's. First Reflection is that immediate slapback that comes off hard surfaces, like the floor or a wall behind you, before the actual reverberation comes back. It makes a reverb sound so much more natural. Anywhooo ... Great demo! Thanks for posting it.

for future videos you have to play staccato when demoing a reverb pedal so we can hear the reverb decay

Great comparison. I totally agree, V1 is less overpowering and "sits back" more than V2, which I also prefer. Thanks!✌

I presume that when you have both sides on, the Reverb is before the Tremolo, yes?

I like the V2. It sounds more natural on youtube. I would have to be in person to really get the full idea.

Might want to check that pre-delay. Might not be zero on V1, and that could easily be the difference between the verb laying behind the guitar or not.
@MadebyMiike Жыл бұрын
Is there actually a way to change the pre-delay on the V1? As far as I am aware there isn't.

V1 you can hear the lower strings clearly , more transparent ….i think
@gbbruno596 Жыл бұрын
V1 sounds more "transparent". V2 is definitively doing something to the eq of the guitar. The DiG V2 does the same.

I have V1 is it worth buying the V2 in your opinion? We don’t use midi. How much difference does Jfet make?
@MadebyMiike Жыл бұрын
If you don't use midi I see no reason to upgrade. V1 sounds better imho.

Thanks Mike as we have v1 but have a offer on Reverb now for V2 $269.99 what’s your thoughts as we won’t use secondary knob … also are well versed in dig and el cap ? V1 / v2

I've heard people refer to the "Strymon sheen", and I feel there's some truth to that. I don't know if it's the buffer or algorithm choice, but most Strymon pedals sound like an idealised 80s rack version rather than broken 70s equipment. It's too clean, at least for those of us looking for actual broken 70s sounds. They have great hardware, decent algorithms and especially fantastic MIDI implementations in their most recent pedals (looking at you, UAFX!), but it's not broken analogue 70s equipment. Perhaps UAFX pedals get closer to the raw sounds sometimes, but then you've got to miss MIDI and expression pedal input, and are stuck into UA's customer unfriendly ecosystem registration system and need an account to control a guitar pedal. I wonder if Strymon, UA or perhaps Walrus are going to come out with an all in one modeller or effects unit.

Source Audio's emulations on the True Spring,- which also offers a fully programmable Tremelo,- is much more natural and broader ranging than Strymon.I don't dislike Strymon, but I don't find them conducive to the rawer vibes I look for. The Spring is the best digital outside of the real thing.( I currently use the Surfybear ,which is excellent).

Toller Video-Ansatz! Also holt euch alle noch schnell eins!

@@MadebyMiike by the way: one of the best pedal reviews ever ( I also don't like effects, that alter the warmth and the characteristics of the guitar - and I hate it, when the effect is in the way of the guitar tone : )
