To me A (Zombie) was clearly obvious in the 1st seconds when I've heard both. Got Zombie, I'm happy, just unhappy with living in an apartment so it's really hard going over 2/10 volume... And in this case Behringer V-Amp Pro is perfect for quiet yet loud (lol) playing in a small bedroom so you don't have to turn up stuff to get the finest sound quality unlike tube (or hybrid) amps
@leearmitage
@leearmitage 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the zombie is a great amp but a loud one haha, for "quite" practice/recording I'll either use amp sims or run my amps through an attenuator into my audio interface
@paul_henderson
@paul_henderson 3 жыл бұрын
@@leearmitage I tried attenuating with Behringer EQ700 pedal but it only destroyed the sound even though every slider was set to 0Hz... I'll try some tricks with Line6 Uber Metal that served me well when I used to play at rehearsals. Btw even powerful Zombie needs some boost when I use CryBaby which is surprising. Dunlop eats a lot of gain
@leearmitage

@@leearmitage doesn't it kill the sound? I've read some reviews on Thomann and what happened to some people is exactly what my EQ did. My Zombie sounded like a cheap amp. But so many men, so many opinions

After watching this again I can definitely say tone A, the zombie sounds better. The Vivo is good but a bit fizzy maybe. I own a zombie now and it does benefit a lot with an TS style boost pedal and an EQ pedal to shape the mids

Couldn't help but notice a slight volume discrepancy in the 2 amps. Perhaps a more thorough balance before doing the comparison, or some might be tempted to think there is a bias going on?!

I love the tone, but i have the the mjolnir and it's not awful but it's kinda dark like a Marshall's loose low end, and it's kinda hard to dial a good death metal tone. Amazing rock, punk, and it does amazing edge if break up/cleanish tones. However when you get to the more high gain, it kinda falls a little short.
@leearmitage
@leearmitage 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've heard that about the mjolnir, but I have to admit I really like these 2 little amps
@lichkrieg4898
@lichkrieg4898 3 жыл бұрын
@@leearmitage are they loud enough for a band setting? Because my drummer plays HARD, the bassist is playing a 100w guitar amp, the singer is on a 60w power amp and i have a little 15w mjolnir lol. Its loud enough but the power amp kinda gets in the way, but into the fx loop the power amp is super clean. My idea was to run a bantamp into a bigger power amp. Right now I'm bosting either boosting the front end with a metalzone and a tube screamer, or boosting the metal zone with the tibe screamer throught the fx loop. Still not my ideal sounds but I'm looking into a 6505mh because it has the tight sound i need especially since I'm playing an 8 string with EMGs and a bone stock 7 string ibanez gio. So that flubby low has to go. Do you have any ideas of other amps that might suit my need for volume and tight gain without having to sell a kidney to get there?
@leearmitage
@leearmitage 3 жыл бұрын
It may be, I've been told although I've not tried but these amps are loud through a 4x12. I've played my 7 string through this with a cheap OD and its pretty tight
@lichkrieg4898
@lichkrieg4898 3 жыл бұрын
@@leearmitage nice. I never really thought about it, but i run the harley Benton vintage 30 2x12 and that could be my volume issue. Maybe i need to grab another one and run them together or throw the v30s into a 4x12 cab.

Still watching haven't got to the end yet but writing my thoughts as I go along. For cleans I think I preferred Tone A more, I thought it warmer and fuller sound (but OK a bit muddier at times). With the heavier stuff, overall preferred B more. Just seemed to have more clarity for me, on my speakers at least! OK now I've seen which is which that's surprised me. I expected I'd like Tone A better (not giving it away for anyone reading the comments while watching!). Think I'll have to do some more research into these!
@leearmitage
@leearmitage 3 жыл бұрын
Agree with you on the cleans a definitely is warmer Tone a definitely needs an OD on the higher gain channel, at some point I'm going to put these 2 in a mix together I've used them on their own in songs but never tried them in the same mix should be interesting
