In my own experience it’s the best experience for NAM. Because of hardware quality and the incredibly fast low latency, on the most advanced (standard) quality captures. It’s really has that analog feel. Crazy for that price when you compare to kemper or fractal stuff with less convincing sounds. That’s also why they are selling that fast.
@CTBlaze
@CTBlaze 5 ай бұрын
I totally agree, yet many in NAM community complain about the price point, kinda being stuck in that "Open Source" paradigm, or ever comparing to Tonex, where IKM must have done a "special calculation" to enter mass market with price. I know that "musicians with a vengeance" and a heart/interest for modeling will always go for the better solution, be it re fidelity of the model, audio-technically, feature-wise or usability wise.

Like to see a video with an honest comparison of the tonex, nam player, and qc . Capture the same amp with each and see which unit produced the most accurate capture.

That SLO sounds pretty good. a different guitar and that JCM sounds on the money also. Probably just need to get some captures of your own, as you said. I believe I'm sticking with Tonex (though IK software and manager both get on my nerves). This generation of the Dimehead is cool though, and that latency sounds super cool!!! like .5 they claim. (@17:05 "dial in your sh**, and get to work", has me re-thinking maybe getting it" - that was a good sales pitch and it does sound good!! lol)

I use NAM regularly for my production. Is NAM so much better than Tonex to prove this price over Tonex One?

I did a few comparison on PC between NAM, Tonocracy and ToneX, and concluded that NAM was near perfect both in terms of feel, dynamics and sound. ToneX sounded a bit more flat with a stiffer feel (more dirext, not much 'sag'). Tonocracy was pretty good, close to NAM and with a great interface. I hope that we will be able to use Tonocracy (or similarly simple) tool to capture NAM models in the future .
@PippPriss
@PippPriss 5 ай бұрын
NAM and Tonocracy are fairly similar. You can load NAM profiles into Tonocracy ,they are then indicated as Tonesnaps. But I guess NAM will somehow push through as a standard, similar to IRs. Might take 5 Years or so to get there, but it will eventually happen

@PippPriss
@PippPriss 5 ай бұрын
In what sense do you find ToneX limited in conjunction with a multi FX unit?
@steveareton697
@steveareton697 5 ай бұрын
@@PippPriss I could be wrong , but I read his comment as saying that both the tone-x and this Nam thing are primarily great amp sims with limited on-board FX (which seems to be true) Jared almost always runs his tone-x through the HX FX with great results and he also says in this video that he hooked the Nam up to the same HX FX and "it worked perfectly". Problem, I think(?) that the tone-x is a LOT less expensive than this and I'm curious to see what the justification is for at least a few extra $100s needed. I'm guessing YT will be flooded with dozens of comparisons soon so I guess time will tell!

Hi Jarrod...you always make cool videos..Love your humour and your love for the 80's 90s Rock (Dokken etc...Lynch one of my fave players...STILL.) I know you are showing this interesting NAM player...BUT...I noticed something recently... WHERE did you get that Marshall power amp? This is something I have not seen since I started playing guitar Lol. Is Marshall making these again?? I always make bad decisions . I should have bought one of those instead of trying other things. I had an ADA MP-2 and sold it like an idiot. That would have been a KILLER sound. I regret it.

Whats the latency on this? I bought a Hotone Ampero II Stomp that had a horrible 10ms latency and had to return it. The best latency seems to be Boss GT1000 (about 2ms) and Tonex One (1.5 ms) When pairing up with digital mixer for in-ear monitoring, this is really important, the Hotone is absolutely useless
