I’m quite confused as to why the Kemper sounds so bad? It doesn’t normally. Worth watching this video, for a thorough test of it vs the QC. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIupgWawr96Irtk

I'm with you on this. I've been very impressed with tonex. I've had one for more than a year now and a qc for little over 2 years. Owned a kemper stage for a week. I was able to tell which captures where which modeler surprisingly. Good video

You are right Greg.. This did change my life. I thought the real amp won and the ToneX was 2nd and the Quad Cortex 3rd.
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
I agree. ToneX is very close to the real amp. Very impressive. Quad Cortex was just a little lifeless, in comparison.

Are you releasing any of these captures out in the wild soon? Other than the AC captures you released a couple years back?

Great video, I noticed to my ears , all the raw amps, sounds as though they are going through a compresser, where the attack is high, compressing the first transient, Or it’s the mic compressing. Do you not hear this?
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
I think that might be KZbin. There definitely isn’t any compression, other than whatever the amps add.

Amazing the tonex sounds the closest out of these 3, wonder if the headrush prime can keep up with the tonex on this one. Debating selling mine after having gotten a tonex.
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
My experience is that none of the modellers sound as good as a good capture of a great amp/cab. It needs to be really well captured though. No idea why the capture sounds so much better, as it’s all digital?

I knew #3 was Tonex, was surprised that QC sounded little weak
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
That's been my observation of the QC. Usually things the sound slightly and cleans it up.

@@aphekrecordingstudio4274 forgot to say that when you had the Dora in front, the QC sounded very close to Tonex. Maybe this is something to experiment more on the next video 😊

Had QC for one year, same for ToneX. Crazy how ToneX just crush the QC capture tech! Two questions : do you use advanced mode? What is your input level on the ToneX pedal? Thanks
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
I just plugged into the input on the TX pedals. Didn’t change anything there. Yes, the ToneX is phenomenally accurate.

@@aphekrecordingstudio4274 i Little advice is to adjust the input trim on the pedal when it comes to more gainy amps :) Will you make more gainy comparisons like this? Thanks :)

Today..but these are computers, tomorrow QC increases parameters and capture time to half hour and... ...or nor

Nice. The real amps win for me. The point where I've noticed a real difference in the past is in mixing. I feel I have to turn modeller amps up too loud to get the 'push' cause they lack it. Any chance of you doing a comparison of real cabs to Impulse Responses?
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
Yes, you can’t beat the real thing. Like all emulations, it all adds up too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXKlpHSGgdWebpI

Interesting, yea the kemper was the loser here. I have a kemper and really enjoy it for my purposes. I play at home at bedroom volume and like the sound of a cranked Marshall, and I have profiles for for Kemper that really work nicely. I use the kemper kab or just plug into my Yamaha THR10 desktop amp on flat more, which is kind of like studio monitors but better in my opinion (I have a non powered kemper). It’s good to know that the Tonex has so much potential and is not that expensive. Good stuff.
@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
I'm just testing the Kemper again, as it's never sounded that bad before. I think there is an issue with using it to reamp.
@Filip_K_Shapethesound3 ай бұрын
@@aphekrecordingstudio4274 remember to adjust reamp sens or something like that. There are several settings that have to be tweaked for reamping purposes

@aphekrecordingstudio42743 ай бұрын
Kemper still sounds good. You obviously notice it isn’t exactly the same, in a test like this. If it was a question of which one do you like the sound of, the results might be different.
