I remember these. My Dad worked at one of the first Volkswagen dealerships back in 1962. I recall my Mom crying because she no one would ever want one of these weird cars and we’d starve! Dad retired from from Volkswagen after 21 years. He brought one of these cars home to me, the dealerships carried them to sell. Oh, obviously we didn’t starve, and I owned many Volkswagens over the years. I like the color, it brought back great memories.

Well done as usual! Pro-tip from a car detailer. Buy some Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish ($8.44/10 oz. can on Amazon). It is a paste... use a small dab on a microfiber on the plastic windows, lightly rub in, then buff off. Repeat as needed until clear and scratch-free. Works wonders. Cheers!

Oh that would be great for me, I wish I had time to order new window. I polished this one one for so long and it only got worse. Also had lots of cracks :( Thank you for watching!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@@CoolRestorations I use flitz polish on my plastic windshields in my restorations. It works amazingly well too. Sometimes you have to wet sand first depending on how deep the scratches are.
@Primus543 жыл бұрын
@@CoolRestorations: You are welcome. We use it to restore foggy plastic headlights and taillights (then protect with a couple of coats of spray UV clear coat), and also dashboard gauges that get scratched from people not using the correct methods to clean them (never glass cleaner and paper towels!). Also, once you get the window assembly polished, you might dip it in clear acrylic floor polish, remove slowly to prevent bubbles, then cover with a bowl until dry. Should protect it for years. Looking forward to your next video! ~ John from Ohio

@@MidIslandCustomDiecast: Yup! Good tip! I’d recommend starting with 4000 grit and move coarser if needed.
