Not trying to be morbid, but as far as retrieving their bodies, there are no bodies nor much of anything retrievable. I can only describe it as, Tomatoes shot out of a cannon. @DUKE_of_RAMBLE Жыл бұрын
We used a more destructive method, but far louder and more authentic sounding (IMO)... a soda can! One day after running one over, it got stuck on one of our tires and then lodged under the seat. As such, in the same way the card slapped against the wheel spokes, the tire tread rubbed against the soda can, causing it to vibrate violently... Of course, metal on rubber causes some wear, and thus, the destructive part. Not that all that much rubber wore off, but it did indeed do so, whereas using playing cards wouldn't do _anything._ 😊

I used the laces from 4 other people, mine included, to tri-weave a belt on the side of the road. It worked, got us back in town. Snapped just as we got on the road to a parts store, some 200~250 meters away, a total of 14 kms back home from a trip. The only reason i think it worked, is because of dad's real leather laces. My mother and brother, and my laces were fabric, so basically less grip than a soapy pig. These days, i use link belts, they're not cheap, but man, you never have issues with those and if you do, you can always pull a link from the spares and go on your merry way.

FYI for anyone who doesn't know, the way v belts work is they ride on the sides of the pulleys, this is why as belts wear they go down further into the pulley. The belt shouldn't ever actually be touching the center part. A way to have made this work is to use duct tape as a bed and then multiple zipties sorta meshed/weaved together. I've done that on my mustang 4 banger, it really helps when the alt is adjustable so you don't have to tighten it to all hell.

And i clearly remember him tying a rope out of and old pair of my grandmothers pantyhose, and then putting that in as a temporary replacement for the belt when it snapped way out in a field. Weird yes, but it did get the tractor home. Edit: When you tie plastic rope together like that you can use a lighter or some other heat source to kinda melt and squeeze it together, eliminating any "knobbly" bits.

Back in the days, a trick actually recommended in DIY "fix your maluch" books when in a pinch was to replace a belt with a stocking, like the thing that women wear on their hind legs. Also, since starter cables broke every so often, a trick was to have a broom stick in the car and push on a starter connector with it to start a car. As a matter of fact, since starters on this thing are no more reliable as the cable, another trick was to mount an extra pulley on the main belt wheel and wind a pull cord on it, to be used to start the maluch like a motor boat.
