Any AEW fan that is throwing shade at her, but is happy to have Mercedes in AEW, need to remember how Mercedes ended her time with WWE. She walked out due to not liking the creative, that's next level unprofessional. Personally, didn't like that Austin walked out, same for Punk, but not being all that happy made a bit of sense for both cases. Austin didn't like that the Brock match had no build and was on free TV, and Punk was working hurt for a fair amount of time and was burnt out. Mercedes was literally a champion when she walked out.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are keeping an eye on the NXTNA situation too - so far, that arrangement feels a lot more equitable to both sides than any of the Forbidden Door scenarios and you have to wonder if people are starting to look at the NIL products like Sol Ruca and thinking "they can't send them all to the main roster, we wouldn't mind having first dibs on releases". There are people like Carlee Bright who are going to struggle to stand out if they go main roster, but for someone like CMLL they could represent a good addition to the roster

I wonder if the backstage culture of AEW is playing a part in this? When you have people like Medusa saying that they had no-one trying to learn from her, if you want to learn and get better, do you go a place which is coaching up non-wrestlers in to potential stars, or the clown show where everyone is trying to do what they want? NXT may not push them but they will keep them safe, and give them access to resources if they want to get better for where they go afterwards. From CMLL's point of view though, I'd also be looking at the NXTNA situation, especially with NXT going to the CW next year. The deal with TNA seems to be MUCH more equitable than how AEW's Forbidden Dork pushes for things to happen. If there is a Latina college cheerleader/acrobat along the lines of Sol Ruca or Kelani Jordan in the NXT system, would it be worth NXT sending her to Mexico to develop instead of having them look like a pale imitation of Sol, Kelani, Tiffany? Would they come back and help maybe grow CMLL's exposure in the US because they'll be booked properly?

It is more than likely AEW bots. Thing I am seeing when a wrestler goes to AEW they get praised, this person is ALL ELITE, and claim WWE held them down forgetting they got their start at WWE. Meanwhile if a wrestler chooses WWE it is billed as WWE steals the talent. It's crazy that Stephanie vs Giulia has happened and it was not a good match. People who are truly unaware of their careers are calling the "chance" of them working together a "dream match". If she outshined Mercedes in Mexico they would’ve scooped her up too… it’s the fact that their former top star Sasha Banks and the highest paid women’s wrestler ever Mercedes Mone looked second-rate next to Stephanie. You just owned yourself too, AJ wasn’t “stuck on the indies forever”. WWE tried to get him multiple times and he rejected them and kept signing long term deals. Personally, I think she’s every bit as good as Julia with a G.Stephanie is definitely better than Mone Mone so yeah, I’ll love to see Stephanie any of the NXT women’s division, or for that matter any of the WWE women’s division wrestle wrestle.
